Forthcoming gigs.

I'm watching her at this very moment as I wait for Johnny Marr and then Suede

Very underwhelmed

As are the audience

I always discover one or two acts at latitude

Missed this year.. next year
Did you enjoy Johnny Marr? Saw him in March and he was really good.

Frank Turner’s been going donkeys years now. Somehow I’ve never seen him live yet.

Bit like yourself until a couple of years ago at Moseley. Baffled/embarrassed my lad by yelling along with the entire Wonder Stuff set and an hour or two later the tables were turned when he - and pretty much every other fucker in the field - sang along with every word of every song that Frank Turner did. Even hearing them all for the first time, I really enjoyed his set.

I want to do an acoustic solo show rather than a full band one like. Would be a great Fire Station booking.

Might be a daft idea, but how do we get in the ears of the decision makers of who puts bands on in Sunderland. Make sure Pop Recs, the Fire Station, Independent & Peacock are aware of what we want as gig goers? I know we’ve already got @dodgem on here from the Peacock. Would be mint if we as a selection of people who go to the gigs could potentially have an influence.

The naive bit about this post is I don’t know how it all works. Does someone want to tour then approach venues, do the venues approach management & say hoy us on the list for the next one, or a bit of both.

As an example, Frank Turner at the Fire Station that I mentioned to @GTG. Brògreal are playing the Cluny in September, Pop Recs would have been class.

I'm due a call from the FS marketing department next week so I'll bring it up then. I think Tamsin does a cracking job with the bookings but she can't just be basing them on her own taste/experience. Someone, somewhere must be compiling data for guidance.

PS Very relieved to see that the Fire Station only seems to have suffered some superficial damage (external) last night. Was worried when I saw how close the burning car was.

How’s that come about? Obviously you can’t blindly follow a few idiots from here, but I think plugging into regular gig goers can only be a good thing.

My mate suggested a year ago doing just a year of Sunderland gigs. It got vetoed as you’re missing out on too much good stuff north of the Tyne, but for the first time ever, we could have done a year’s worth of gigs & had a cracking year in Sunderland. Let’s build on it.

Skinny Lister at the Cluny on my birthday. Next time let’s pinch them off Newcastle & get them on here.

Had a phone call from them, presumably as I've bought so many tickets off them in the last couple of years, asking if I'd mind doing a survey - and offering 2 freebies for any show! Unsurprisingly, I said 'Yes'!

The Stranglers were brilliant last night at the Piece Hall. Superb setlist.
Buzzcocks were a bit ropey.

Next up New Order and the Charlatans in Cardiff.
Seen the Buzzcocks a few times with Pete Shelley. Always it was just ok. Got a bit bored.

Can’t have got better after Pete Shelley has passed away.

Bloody hell - Heart cancelled on their UK tour and now Journey have cancelled their UK tour - was really looking forward to actually seeing Cheap Trick again as well

You couldn’t write it - like they don’t have enough money personally 🤦‍♂️

Biffy Clyro, Halifax Piece Hall, End of this month. Providing all this rioting bollocks doesn't effect it.
