I’m fully aware of that. But surely now that Mendy has released that statement it is a prime time to be in contact and use what he has said in the bargaining /negotiations. We’ve a week to go to season kick off. We don’t have time to sit about and wait to see what happens. We need to be proactive (and yes we may well be but to the fans at present it doesn’t look that way).

I think if we want quality up front we're going to have to accept we'll have to pay for it. Sooner or later the fee and wages will have to increase or we risk worse than last season. Whether its this fella or not I'm u sure as don't know enough about him. There's a few in this league I'd spend more on given the chance though.

No, just that he made it clear he was leaving in January and in fact only signed his last contract with the understanding that he'd be allowed to leave this summer.
