In answer to your last question then yes I can understand some cricket followers not liking the tournament and their concerns, always have, it was a risk taken by the ECB to make even more money and it’s yet to be seen whether that risk is successful, but tbf to your point I do understand the concerns.Again ignoring my arguments.I'll use a football comparison to counter our " common sense" argument. Many football teams Hoover up what up what they consider the best players in the league but it doesn't make them best team. A mixture of money grabbers with nothing in common other than avarice won't necessarily gel as a team whereas a group who have grown as a team, become friends can produce a higher level of performance than a band of individual mercenaries. That's wholly logical.
I've heard your designated window argument ad nausea not convinced a saturated fixture list optimises support as opposed to a fixed day or night over a longer period.
You still ignore the questions
why do you support a tournament which heamorrhages money yet offers nothing more than T20 offers?
Can you not accept that the aversion to this tournament by genuine cricket lovers is because of the risk it poses of bankrupting cricket.
Don't know name but assumed it would be one of our newly signed women players.
Most of the England players could be seen in the CC. I've been privileged to see many world class players playing for Durham. Yes,I don't agree with the inflated salaries being offered in the Hundred to not particularly talented players . We can't compete financially with India,I think it would be financial suicide to try.Not complaining, just expressing what I consider an entirely logical viewpoint. There’s a few
England’s top players rarely play in the blast, this is a chance for people to see England top players, the “Top players” don’t all have to be overseas, but you’d still complain if they upped the salaries to get the big overseas names in
Pooran, Khan, Pollard all still get IPL and considered big names in that
I suspect she will just be on when Trent Rockets are playing due to Nat Sciver playing for the women’s side.Aye English one, wasn’t great. Reckons the Rockets were “really brave” bowling Root ffs
Tudor that is what is so bad. He’s awful. He’s awful in the blast too. Same goes for Croft.Could bring Richie Benaud back from the dead on comms and people would still complain just beacause it’s this competition, the standard is just as good if not better than the blast, and certainly better than the quality in the 50 over comp
What is so bad about the standard?
Aye they are shite, but that was deffo the B team I’m sure, still like Simon Doull and NasserTudor that is what is so bad. He’s awful. He’s awful in the blast too. Same goes for Croft.
But neither of them made a quack. The Birmigham openers tonight were Donald and Duckett.
I don't think there's criticism of every single game -the critics barely watch the games. Lots of unnecessary mimicry imo but if kids like it so be it- I take pride in being a BOF. The argument about quality I still stand by is sound -team spirit and pride will raise standards compared to a conglomerate of mercenaries. Durham had six representatives in a recent Northern Supercharger game. I 'd argue that they'd be more charged on, subconsciously maybe, playing for Durham in the Metro Bank if salaries were matched. In answer to your last question then yes I can understand some cricket followers not liking the tournament and their concerns, always have, it was a risk taken by the ECB to make even more money and it’s yet to be seen whether that risk is successful, but tbf to your point I do understand the concerns.
And once again I don’t support this tournament I support a short format tournament in this country in a designated window like every other main cricketing nation, and once again would be happy and support it if county based.
I don’t object to people been concerned.
What I object to is the complete criticism of every single game or shot irrespective whether it good or bad.
You can disagree with something without looking for every possible angle every possible time to have a go at everything about it all the time, from crowds, shirts, name of teams, absolutely everything all the time
There is no balance in the some of the arguments summed up by the blast/100 quality argument.
You still making an argument which is an incredibly weak one that the quality isn’t better in the 100 even though they have their pick of 18 counties into 8 teams.
Broadly speaking even taking into your team spirit argument you know as well as do if you picking the best players from 18 teams into 8 in any sport that will increase the quailty. yet you still reluctant to accept that clear obvious point.
People are just looking for negativity, what a ridiculous comment, Both Sunderland and Durham sponsored by a bettering company, the bairns not asking me to put a f***ing acca on,Whether one should be supportive of a tournament which constantly encourages youngsters to partake of unhealthy snacks is a further issue which shouldn't be ignored. Is that responsible parenthood?
I assume you mean a betting company.People are just looking for negativity, what a ridiculous comment, Both Sunderland and Durham sponsored by a bettering company, the bairns not asking me to put a f***ing acca on,
The Meerkats are arguably more dominant in the coverage she's not asking for car insurance either
Aye the bairn always asks for a pack of Tyrells...its aimed at everyonethey are only sponsoring to encourage youngsters to eat their product.
My apologies -I've obviously touched a raw nerve. You're correct in fault could be found in many advertising products.Aye the bairn always asks for a pack of Tyrells...its aimed at everyone
People will find fault with whatever is advertised on the shirt, Alcohol, Betting, Investment, Crisps, unless its airlines or mobile phone companies there's not a lot else for big money
And the logos arent on the kids replica shirts anyway, think as a parent id far rather my child was exposed to the odd packet of crisps than gambling
