1 day game tomorrow - bringing own beer limits

Something needs to be done about the quality of the pitches. For sometime now we've had 2 extremes-either a flat dead pitch or a bowlers paradise.
Full strength sides in the championship match and we rolled them over in five sessions
So their reserve strength I e. Academy is much stronger than ours?

But did we bowl reasonably well? The pitch was taking spin. Drissell went wicket less,Ackerman was tidy and we had a leg spinner who was considered not good enough to get a bowl
We were sat as close as you could behind the bowlers run up. After watching Ackermans spell we said Leach would do some damage

Same pitch on Friday I think

Well put it this way - what were your thoughts after the Somerset innings? That we were never going to get 242? Or that we had enough in the tank to win, maybe not comfortably, but it was eminently doable?

Drissell didn’t take a wicket, but he was very unlucky and bowled economically (which is of course part of the exercise in the white ball game). Ackermann bowled v well. Borthwick was never going to bowl as he is bang out of form in that dept.

Saw how much Ackerman was turning it and feared Leach so saw it as a challenging total Wasn't confident at all. Sadly I think the club is in a mess. Compare Somerset academy performances to ours.

Yes,Lees says whoever wins the toss will win the game. Egg on his chin if/when we win the toss and lose.

I will reserve judgement if we are a mess or not till after the Kent match in the championship

We are competing in longer format and T20 quarter finals still early on this

The lack of depth in the squad is beginning to tell. Neglecting the academy and buying in isn't a good long term policy.
What more can be done Somerset have lost a game already as well, we are doing well in 2 formats this is developmental and it's still early days we can be a lot better but we will get there.
