It's a one off comment that the lad might not even be aware of depends if it was in isolation
It's not a great issue and it was obviously well intended but I've no doubt it'll have drifted back to the lad. Just thought it was naive of Campbell.

If my coach had said that to me when I was playing I would have felt ten foot tall.
It’s basics of motivation in my opinion IF the coach knows the lad well enough to know that will spur him on and not put more pressure on him.
