We have a large selection of a fanbase that will lap up anything and clap at everything.
Same lot who go to the manager/sporting director talk ins and come out all excited after been fed a load of bullshit.

I think you’ve got to factor in just how many players weren’t involved tonight from the first team mind.
Of those that started i’d only expect to see Ba, Rigg, Aouchiche and Mundle involved regularly this season. It was Ba’s first game back from injury, Rigg has already shown he’s good enough, and Mundle had a really good game. The rest will likely be 3rd/4th choice when everyone is fit and the window is shut, if they are even still at the club.

They're first team squad members in the main, a lot over 21 and should be performing better against league 2 side. We NEVER have everyone fit. We'll be relying on some of these players for large chunks of the season unless we shock everyone and bring in quality in quantity within days

Thread after thread all repeating the same complaints ad nauseum with 20/20 foresight of how our season will unfold if we don't do something. Totally reminiscent of kids in the back seat on a long road trip :cool:

It’s just a very silly overreaction to a meaningless pre-season game.

Moore likely won’t start a single league game.
Anderson, Embleton and Johnson will likely leave either on loan or permanently.
With the exception of Pembele and Rusyn the rest are capable of performing at this level if called upon, they aren’t going to be called upon at the same time though making this game completely irrelevant.

The difference between chucking 11 squad players together and expecting them to perform and having squad players come in to a stronger, more settled side is also pretty huge.
