Roberts had played more than 100 matches including one or two good loan spells, and some not so good. He also didn’t spend his youth bouncing from academy to academy. There are some vague similarities but there are more concerning signs with poveda imo.

Though I hope he is not Clarke’s replacement, his record looks quite similar in the sense he has been loaned here there and everywhere and been somewhat underwhelming.

Clarke was poor at Spurs, QPR, and Stoke. In League One he hardly set the world alight either. I’m not saying this lad will turn out similar but it’s a similar profile signing. Low risk, high potential reward

we will need to find the right time to cash in on lads when they are at the highest value, so if we are canny and replace them first we are not going to get fleeced in the market.
