If £25M is our price we should hold for it if the club feel we can do an enough business without selling to have a good go this season.

IWe will sell him to anyone of his valuation is met. Clarke will only go to certain places. I wouldn’t have thought Ipswich is one of them.

Aye I can’t see him at Ipswich
Why not?
What's the point in going to Ipswich. They'll be back down here after next season.
It’s a decent move for him in my opinion like. Big wages, at least a year of Premier League football to see if he can mix it with the best - if I was in his shoes I’d rather chance that then what we’re likely to do this season……… fuck all!

And thats what he will get week on week in the prem, wingers and fullbacks working much harder in defence and being much faster than a lot of the championship plodders. The leap in quality between the leagues is massive.

I’m not sure he’d ever make it in the prem but theres no shame in being one of the top performers in the championship but not quite having enough for the prem

Clarke works very hard doubling up and in the premier league he'd have an overlapping fullback to help him going forward.

He'd be fine in the premier league.
Don't these clauses usually have an expiry date- after the end of the first contract, right?

Buy back clauses do. Sell on percentages generally don't.

Is this percentage right? Some are quoting 40% but that amount sounds ridiculous.

Shows how greedy these prem clubs are when I think that Morecambe had a 20% sell on clause for Kilman, but west ham and wolves bullied them into dropping it to 10% or they would call off the deal.

Won't happen when it is the other way round.
Yeah I trust the source from Tottenham’s side who tweeted that we spent £750k and put 20% in the deal when he was linked to lazio the other window. He’s always bang on the money when it comes to spurs.

Not sure why loads of people are belittling Ipswich (again). They're in the pl and we aren't, that makes them a better proposition than us surely
In reality, a move to a newly promoted club is probably going to be his route into the premier league.

Can’t see anyone else taking a punt on him tbh.

That seems more likely. Would be mental for us to agree to 40%

That was the tweet btw he’s always bang on with spurs so would base the percentage of the sale on that plus what we paid for him upfront.

I think he'd fit well. They tend to attack quickly on the ground on the counter.

They'll be countering a lot in the Premier against bigger sides so somebody like Clarke who is good on the counter, quick and a direct dribbler could suit their style very well

I wouldn't want him for a team dominating possession as he'd get doubled up on and he's probably not skilful/creative enough to break teams down but in a game where there is space on the counter, he could flourish. He's also a hard worker so will suit Ipswich's style & being the "underdog" in most games

Regardless of the sell on fee, £750K for Clarke has to be some of the best business we've ever done.

£325,000 for Superkev probably beats it

Nothing against Ipswich but, absent them finding £300m down the back of a sofa, most likely they will come back down next season

Same unfortunately would have gone for us had we gone up 22/23

Could young Clarke play in an established PL squad? Could see him at Everton, West Ham, Aston Villa to be honest and with teams not able to double/triple mark him and then foul him when that failed he could do very well

But selling him now, with a massive sell on clause, for anything less than £30m would seem short sighted to me

Doubt we will be far off promotion this season and will be surprised if Ipswich are far off relegation - so not sure you could argue we would be standing in the way of Jack Clarke’s progression not selling to Ipswich

But it is a professional game and all players have their price - if Ipswich make a really daft offer it should be considered - but not the figures mentioned in that article

That’s the spirit 😂
Bowen is a left footed right winger, wouldn't they replace him more like for like?
Yeah I thought that, he’s not a Bowen replacement like.

More of a Paqueta replacement, which is entirely possible since he’s probably going to have his career ended soon.
