Durham v Northants T20 14/7/24 @ 2:30pm

Spongebob tractor boy still mopping the covers and putting barriers round the edge so he doesn't spill it onto the outfield.
Looks pointless. Raining more than he's shifting

I’m convinced that weather forecasters, like First Class umpires just guess. They’re the biggest frauds going. If I was incorrect in my job as often as them I’d have been sacked in the first week.

As it is, it’s after 2pm and the rain is torrential.
Near 90% chance of rain on BBC, seems forecast is pretty accurate.

Hoping for a Worcs, Notts and Birmingham win today in the other games. If they do then a point for a no result will be pretty useful for us.

If they don't win what are the implications for Durham?
If they all win and Durham get the point for a NR then we will be 2 points clear of 5th place, and Yorkshire will no longer be able to catch us.

Essentially it keeps everything in our own hands going into the final game against Derby.

If our games ends in a NR and Leicestershire, Derbyshire and Yorkshire win. Would be the following

1.Warks 13 played 16 points
2. Lancs 12 played 15 points
3. Leics 13 played 14 points +NRR
4. Durham 13 played 14 points -NRR
5. Derbyshire 12 played 13 points +NRR
6.Yorkshire 13 played 13 points +NRR
7. Northants 12 played 13 points -NRR

So would need Derbyshire and Northants to then probably lose their games in hand against Worcs and Warks and us to beat Derbyshire in our final game.

I don't think so unless I've worked it out wrong.

But warks and Worcs are going well.

Notts have slipped off from a decent start.

It's a tight table but my maths make the following if we get a point and Leics, Derby and Yorkshire lose

3. Durham p13 14 points
4. Northants p12 13 points
5. Leics p13 12 points
6. Derby p12 11 points
7. Yorks p13 11 points

I misread what @MONTYMCPHAIL said

I've gone for worst case assuming we end up in a NR. You've gone best case as asked for.

Hopefully we end up in the best case!!!

Tbf I wasn't confident with my quick maths

Even a Leics win and defeats for Yorks and Derby would be pretty good for us. With that scenario there's a decent chance that 14 points will be enough considering Northants have Lancs and Bears in their last 2 games, and Derby needing to beat Worcs aswell as us.
