SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

Here’s an analogy for you…

Imagine you decide to replace your old wooden front door. You’re well off — you can afford any door in the range. So you choose a nice composite door, with a lovely handle and letterbox, etc. You get it in the same colour to match your red garage, which costs a bit more. When it gets installed the fitters take the old frame out and replace that. ‘I’m gonna live here for a few years, so I’m gonna invest in something good.’

Imagine Sunderland’s owners got a new front door. They’d probably look through the catalogue and pick out the cheapest model of door. They’d tell the fitters to reuse the old letterbox and handle off the old door and fit it on the old frame, even though the frame will need replacing soon. Instead of paying the extra for the red one to match the garage, they’d go with white, cause the white door is the standard spec and cheaper. ‘It’s just a door — it does the same job.’

What would you rather do, if you had the money to get whatever door you wanted? Go for the cheapest one?
Where've you got that idea from?

Now I'm not criticizing here, but "state of the art" and "used in Easter Europe for 20 years" aren't comments you would normally see together when describing something.
I assume it means the technology will have improved and be current but the heating strategy is essentially the same. If it works in eastern europe under their extreme weather conditions then it'll certainly be an improvement on out previous system.

Well you are the one saying we do everything on the cheap when we are not? You are tying yourself in knots here

If the rails had been powder-coated in red to match the seating — like pretty much every other club does — it would cost more than plain galvanised steel and look better. Why did Barnsley, Derby, etc. not leave theirs un-powder coated? Cause they wanted to do a proper job.

Look better in who's eyes? Yours? I don't mind the galvanized steel look. It really doesn't bother me enough to calling people names on the Internet, like yourself. But galvanized steel is not cheap, as the poster who works in the industries article explained. And it is more effective without painting it.

THEY’RE ALL f***ing GALVANIZED.

Read the article I posted, instead of waffling on:

“When powder coated galvanized steel is manufactured properly, it forms an aesthetically pleasing building component with superior longevity and longer time to first maintenance. Zinc and the polyester resin from the powder provide a synergistic protective effect. The polyester topcoat protects the zinc and the zinc protects the steel beneath it. The American Galvanizers Association (AGA) and Society of Protective Coatings (SSPC) tell us that this duplex process potentially increases the service life of the part by as much as two and one-half times the life of the part with either coating alone.”

What's America got to do with it?
Who cares if we have a good season now we know KLD doesn’t know any decent powder coaters.
It's making him very angry.

Why are you getting abusive? Are you OK?

He has lost the plot.I am worried for him
A few of us were having a reasoned discussion on this thread this week and then you come along trying to say plain galvanised steel is more expensive than galvanised steel that has been powder-coated red. Despite being corrected you keep repeating the same nonsense.

How do you know we could have put the rail seats in? There may not have been room. That's right, you don't, your just pissing your pants over nothing.
Rail seating takes up less space than normal seating. 😂

Personally couldn't think of anything worse than red railings, give it a week and it'll be full of nuggets scratching crap into it.

There's many things worse than this, ie. the stupid white seats in the corners which look crap and the bargain basement pink seats in the rest of the stadium, excluding the East Stand.

You still going on? I didn't say this, I said galvanized steel isn't as cheap as un galvanized steel. Then you started reeling off stuff about plywood and shit( weird). Are you OK?
Because we dont want to paint it..its cheaper in the long run.
Why is that a bad thing?
