Forthcoming gigs.

Arcade Fire/Echo and the Bunnymen tomorrow. Unfortunately venue is a fkn nightmare to get away from. Ireland excels at this unfortunately - Malahide Castle, Slane, Punchestown, Electric Picnic...

Only found out yesterday they were playing the boiler shop , obviously sold out ☹️
Think they’re doing Newcastle, Manchester & maybe Liverpool. Buy the record, get a gig ticket. Boiler shop is two gigs, 6-8 & 9-11. I’m at the 6pm one.

Need to watch the Glastonbury set.

Was at Finsbury Park on Friday for The Wolf Tones. Great gig but absolutely pissed down the whole night so got soaked, even though we were in the VIP tent. The VIP bit was good though, I'd recommend it and will use it again if I need to go. Getting served was easy whereas the drink queues elsewhere were massive. Easy to get a piss anarl.

Riverside Friday
New to me but interesting

Watched some of their Glastonbury set the other day. Seemed like good fun.

See many support bands? Brògreal were on weren’t they?

Only seen the Wolfe Tones once, maybe 10 years ago now.

Am I right in saying they’re stopping touring?

Had a ticket for LCD in malahide and sold it on the day, just couldnt face the faff on getting out to malahide.

That said the gigs in trinity and the iveagh gardens are great and easy to get to.

Rain was so bad we just went in for The Wolfe Tones, shame cos had been looking forward to some of the others. Got absolutly drenched and couldn't find a poncho to buy anywhere!

It's their last London show, they'll still play some in Ireland.

I’m there tonight, can’t wait absolutely love them I’m sure it will be a cracking gig.

Just got a ticket for Ride at Boiler Shop in September.
Curious to see if the place will be packed with young uns, like the Slowdive one at NX was.

After a cracking all-dayer on Saturday in a barn in Easington Colliery, been looking ahead at bookings for the rest of the year:

Jordan Rakei/Northern Sinfonia (Glasshouse)
My Darling Clementine (Cumberland)
Northern Kin
Thomas Dolby (City Hall)
Lemon Twigs (Grove)
Pictish Trail (Engine Room)
John Grant (Fire Station)
Public Service Broadcasting (Glasshouse)
King Creosote (Fire Station)
Jason Isbell (Globe)
Unthanks (Glasshouse)
Robert & Toyah (Fire Station)

Will probably add the Undertones as they seem to have dropped off the bill at Northern Kin and I'd like to see Ruts DC as well. Nick Lowe would be an absolute must but looks like I'm away for a mate's 70th. Few more to add once I've sorted dates out around a few other trips away, including one of Martin Stephenson's xmas shows
