Regis le Bris - confirmed

Just read a really long interview with him from his Lorient days, speaks well and sounds very methodical. Not a fan of overuse of data and xG though.

I'm very wary of expected goals because they miss so many things. With xG, there has to be a shot. If there isn't, the danger isn't measured. A great cross along the goal line that nobody touches, it's a super-dangerous situation, but it's worth 0.00. Conversely, a shot from a very tight angle, where the goalkeeper is in total control, generates danger according to the data. I use stats, but they don't tell the whole story about player commitment. For example, if a goalkeeper outperforms, it's above all because he's very good. The same goes for a striker who's going to be very successful because he's very good.
then he's up my street - I don't give a sh.t about expected goals.

I think any coach coming in without their own staff (if that happens) will be a Yes Man to a point. The owner has underestimated the fans and the club and it has backfired to the point when anything he does will be questioned. Hopefully this will be one of his better decisions.
How many times have we said "hopefully" over the years??
Like I say..its becoming tiresome now fwiw.

He is bringing his German Assistant Manager with him and it is understood he will build his own backroom staff.

Speakman and KLD have eventually appointed a head coach who they hope will take Sunderland forward. At least give him and keep the players he needs to have a chance. Hopefully he will have assurances that the players already under contract he wants to keep will be kept. It won't take him long to work out Speakman and KLD if he's been given a duff hand but I do think if he gets the best out of Clarke, Neil, Hume, Ballard, Ekwah, Bellingham,Patterson and hopefully an injury free Alese and Cirkin then he might be a good fit. A striker and defensive midfielder are a must well before the season starts for real. Should any recent signings prove useful I would be pleasantly shocked and surprised but that's to big an ask I would think. However good luck to him because he is certainly going to need it.

Would of been announced that they will join on 1st of July also . Why wouldn't you announce the new backroom team if it was indeed true they were coming in .
Simple answer is they arnt it's le bris dodds and proctor

I wouldn't hold your breath...I think this decision smacks of panic..if everyone for a second just puts thier sensible heads on...they would admit this is an horrendous decision....I get people want to grasp to positives...personally I think its utter panic.!!
You’re allowed to “think” your reaction but everyone else has to “admit” theirs?
