Regis le Bris - confirmed

I simply can’t get my head round this one.
Of course I’ll back him all the way and hope he brings us success but I can’t see on what basis we would make him our manager.
Yeah same here...

Better than dodds: probably
although games managed by both men aren't very high RLB == 73 MD Approx 20

Both me lacking experience... but RLB might surprise.

5 man shortlist ... and he was the best option ... or more a case of he was willing. Will Still pursuit much like the Keane one provokes more questions then answers

Lorient fans... seem happy to get rid, might be a bit harsh on him. He was sandbagged by their board. But safc isn't going to be any easier.

Dodds factor and future role .... probably the most interesting subplot of all this... the model shift.

Allez les lads -- bonne chance

Interesting to see that only 7 clubs in Ligue Un made a net loss on transfers last season. 8 the year before.

This must be why KLD wants the French model

Because the point was being made that Lorient are perennial relegation fodder and it’s not reflection on Regis Le Bris, which is simply not true. We can all bend statistics like @Legend has done to support his argument but it doesn’t make it true. What’s RLB’s win %…bend that one if you will
They are relegation fodder and have been for the last 10 years. Even there mid table finishes weren’t great..

Was he sandbagged though?

They’re not

I'm not an expert on french football to be fair. I read he was the youth coach first, and also had a young squad.

And the year before relegation he massively out performed budget before the chairman sold all the best players for tens of millions.
He was the youth coach but from what I can see they have produced a couple of players of note in his 10+ years there. I’m sure there are a few more knocking about in the French leagues but it doesn’t look like a fantastic record to me.
They finished 10th with 13th highest wage bill, so an overachievement but not sure I’d say it was massively. Also I’d caveat that it was entirely based on an unbelievable start to the season.
If we are appointing him based on his record then we are entirely basing it on his first ten games because he has underperformed since in both seasons.

I should pay more attention.

And how is that a mitigating factor for RLB’s relegation?
They are a team that are always around the relegation zone in the past 10 years

23/24 - 3 points from safety
22/23 - Safe by 20 points
21/22 - safe by 4 points
20/21 - safe by 2 points

Since they were promoted they’ve been fighting relegation every season bar one. Plus there has been plenty put on here explaining what went on there last season.

They seem to also recruit a sizeable amount too though. RLB couldn’t get a tune out of them.
Really interesting point ...
My big concern was the breakdown in relations at the club between him and the fans ... sounds like he started to become really difficult

Subplots aplenty ... maybe it's just wasn't a good fit. Where all in the same boat now

That they were 11th highest spenders in the league?

3 Major players sold killed their season...apparently

For good or for bad

Hes not dodds... might be better the beale
Two of them left in January the year before on loan. They moved permanently in the summer but the year he finished 10th they only played half a season. Only Le Fee left in the summer.

11th highest spend that year. 8th highest budget.

That’s definitely the one. Generally (with some exceptions) fan opinion developed over a few years is a good indicator

More questions than answer... a really big one is how our squad are going to interpret this
