Regis le Bris - confirmed

But, but, but the club paid Romano for a tweet yesterday and the lemmings on here said there would be an extensive overhaul of coaching staff.
That’s not what was inferred? It’s that le Bris can bring coaches with him, which some on here have said he won’t be able to do.

It would be a huge surprise is Dodds and Proctor were let go

I don’t see why the £ element of Romano’s tweet is relevant. If you believe him as a source it’ll still be based in reality, just paid for. He doesn’t spout utter shite for money - it tends to be truthful, just he uses his platform to sell timeline space, as it were

I totally get that. We are doing things differently and KLD is young enough to learn to be a more hands on owner.

I doubt the Brighton or Brentford owners just leave everything to their football men to run the show. They'll look at the data and make changes according
Does KLD have a proper job apart from his little hobby owning Sunderland?

You’ve got such an ego mate you should tone it down a notch. Just a suggestion I know it’ll fall on deaf ears but not every post has to be having a sly dig at fans who choose to see things in a more positive light.

The thing that had me hoping we’d get Maric or still is they seem really driven. Have got into coaching early and I’d have been happy if we were part of a bigger plan where they see their careers ultimately taking them to the elite clubs. For them to get to that level they’d have needed relative success with us.

This guy just seems to have plodded along til he was 46. Stumbled into a HC position and had 2 seasons at it one ending in failure. It doesn’t even seem like he’s chased the job and we’ve gone after him. Once he’s here and we’ve heard him speak or seen his team play things might be more apparent, but I’m looking forward to hearing KS or KLD trying to sell it to us. I’d really like to hear the local press put the facts to them and ask them to explain the rationale behind it but they’re all shitty arses that won’t bite the hand that feeds them.

I think it’s fair to say the process has been underwhelming but the appointment, we don’t know
Well you never know in advance about anything, people are still allowed to have an opinion, one way or the other. For most it doesn’t change wanting him to succeed whether you think it’s a good or bad appointment.

Everyone hopes he does well.

There’s a different between what we hope for, and what we’ve got a reasonable basis to expect, though.
Fair enough.
If I'm understanding you correctly, I think we are probably in agreement
I hope the club is able to assemble a coaching team and playing squad capable of challenging at the top end of the table. I hope that we are able to do that this coming season.
Based on recruitment decisions over the last 12 months from a coaching and playing perspective I expect that the best we can expect is mid table.
If le Bris is arriving under similar working conditions to Beale and has to accommodate Dodds in the first team set up then I don't think I expect things to be much different to last season.
The playing squad is inexperienced, unbalanced, has too many injury prone members, lacks leadership and firepower. We also have a losing mentality.
Recruiting a coach who has just seen his team relegated is not necessarily a bad decision, but The Championship is a very different league from what he has been used too. I hoped we would have gone for experience in English football.

Year 1 he sacked an under performing Johnson, appointed AN and we went up.

Year 2 he made some good signings and we just missed out on the play off final due to injuries.

Year 3 we offloaded experienced players who were likely on high wages and going to occupy the bench most of the season. Recruitment wasn't great, and neither was the appointment of MB.

To say he's had 2 years to awful decision making it just you trying to get it to fit your agenda.

Things are being changed for the better off the field, and the academy is finally being used for what it's there for.

I see you're in the camp of the half glass empty.

It's definitely been at least a year of awful decision making. The question is,has he learned from those awful mistakes
