I struggle to see how a few sales, still justify how much the performance of Lorient dropped off. Dropping a few places or a fair few points fair enough, but 7 places and a 26 point swing isn't ideal. People wouldn't give moyes season with us the pass this manager has overseen. But I'm hoping last season was a blip due to the circumstances suggested

The shortlist was supposed to be when Beale was sacked. I assumed they hadn’t been relegated by that point

I suppose the concern is how much is then down to individuals as opposed to systems etc. Limited data makes it harder to make fair judgement i guess

The 10th position was probably overachieving. It was their higest ever L1 position.

Sadly I think a lot of people will just focus on the relegation, and refuse to look at any context, judging him on that alone.

No one has much of a clue about him. I’m going to give him a chance, and focus on the fact that he is supposed to play attractive football.

Can't be that attractive if he took them down.

Sounds like it suits our squad tbh. Similar to how we played when we had Stewart….so hopefully we can find another one of those!

Can't be that attractive if he took them down.

You can get relegated playing good football. Particularly if your best three players and top scorers are sold from under you.

I'm guessing you'd never have appointed Klopp. One of the first things he did as a head coach was to get relegated with Mainz.

Not after looking about for 120 days I wouldn't have.
