He did say they were entering the final stages. Which clearly wasn't accurate. He undeniably gave the distinct impression an appointment was to be made within days.

How though?

Maybe we were in the final stages and something changed. Or we are in the final stages things but there's things to iron out, backroom staff/compo/salary etc etc..

I did get my hopes up when the statement came out, but people like that Hoxton mackem above who just read what they want and ignore anything else are just crackers
