Frank Lampard - manager rumours

Going back to Chelsea destroyed any credibility he had left. It's unfortunate as he speaks a lot of sense about that second spell - the players had given up and had nothing to play for, they had a bloated squad and the ones who weren't playing knew they'd be leaving and the ones who were playing were shell-shocked from the disaster of a season. Don't think anyone would have really got a tune out of them at that point. But it's hard to overlook the fact he took 5 points from 11 games with a squad containing hundreds of millions worth of talent.

He did well in his first spell at Chelsea - took over a fractured dressing room with a transfer ban after selling Hazard, promoted and developed several young players like Mount, Abraham, James, Hudson-Odoi and Tomori and qualified for the Champions League when they weren't expected to. The problems seemed to start the following season when they spent big on a number of big names and he couldn't rely on tubthumping to motivate them and had to deal with egos. He seems to work better with young players and can get them on board and doesn't really have anything to fall back on.

At Everton he again took over when morale was at rock bottom after Benitez and the boardroom in chaos and galvanised them, they picked up some good results during the run-in and stayed up. But seemed like a classic case of what we used to do every year after survival and got ahead of himself when all the problems were still there and couldn't arrest the slide. Whereas Dyche showed exactly how to do it and showed him up.

I don't want him and think we should avoid but I think we're at the point where you could make a case for him over some of the other candidates we've been linked with. He has a proven record of developing and inspiring young players and trying to play attractive football. But seems to have a limited shelf life and doesn't really offer anything else.

Out of all of the rumours or genuine links Lampard is my least favourite. I'm always positive once someone new comes through the door, I would judge him only on what he does here but its a lazy, desperate choice of true.
even worse than Robinson or Challinor? that Nixon linked us too

They do with stuff like there. There’s literally zero data for them to work with, so they react to the money & balance their books.

It’s different with so many other events where research & analysis can be applied. The outcome of this is based on a small number of people’s private decisions

We have no idea what information they may or may not have, but they're extremely well connected and his odds were significantly shortened before this went viral on social media.

The significant shortening could easily be a combination of both.

I'm careful with my money & I'd place a bet on this one.

Confirmation 6pm

Lampard rules himself out of the running. SAFC pursuing alternative candidates.🥱
