I think Lampard would be a good appointment. I think he would be able to convince the likes of Rigg to stay. He was one of the finest midfielders of his generation so would get instant respect from the players.

come on! Yet again we’ve got to think about what the club are offering potential managers. I can see absolutely no reason why lampard would even consider us with the current ownership model. Lampard is not stupid or desperate enough to take a punt on us.

I had a random text this morning from a relation who just doesn’t follow football asking if Frank is in for the Sunderland managers job as the rumour was he was staying in the Ramside last night

He’d be the sort of bloke that would potentially improve some of the existing midfielders. He’s far more likely to have a chance of getting Rigg to commit to a new contract than Challinor

Realistically I can’t see Lampard getting a premier league job in this country. That leaves the championship. He’s going to have lower wages where ever he goes.
