I particularly loved the claim that if the earth was a globe then any ship sailing over the horizon would disappear mast first.

There are some things like a plane flying upside down once it reaches Australia or having to constantly dip it's nose downwards, I can see the child-like logic in. But that one was a mind blower, I just can't even begin to think of how anyone could possibly begin to think it.

It was an interesting few months. I thought it was a wind up at first but stupidity knows no bounds in reality.
I'd love to read the whole thing back one day

The Earth is stationary and flat covered with a Dome. The Sun and Moon are local to us and the same size moving above our heads. Plants dont exist, there are merely lights in the upper dome. what you see is what lying NASA show you. Nothing comes in and nothing goes into what you call space, Sattillies are actually balloons. NASA are hiding something at the North Pole and the Ant Artic and. Why lie,, simple, its to hide the presence of a creator.

I didn't get the impression he was unintelligent. I think he was one of those people who has no trust in anyone or anything from authority.
So everything we're told by anybody from a government, from science, or who has expert knowledge of a subject is lying. It is a conspiracy theory if he can't personally prove it.

He had a vivid imagination but I don't think he was intelligent. He was responsible for some of the most moronic things said on this board and there is stiff competition.

The best I can think of is one when he claimed that if you stood on a tower of any height on a globe then you would never see a horizon. We established that if you stood on a box and looked at your feet you would be able to see the ground. We then agreed that if you looked up you would see the sky. But if from looking down you slowly moved your head to looking up, at no point would you see both ground and sky together. There would be this flash point where you were looking at only ground and then bang only sky.

To be intelligent you have to be able to take a critical look at evidence and accept or reject based on evidence you can prove or justify why you trust it (e.g. independently verified information).

Like many conspiracy theorists, he encountered things he didn't understand so rather than try to find out he made up his own world and own physics (or joined together many random conspiracy youtube videos).

I thought he came over as not unintelligent. I meant in an academic sense rather than having crazy theories. I haven't seen him for a while I wonder what happened to him?
 
Central projector must have malfunctioned cos I just went to the corner shop at half time and could see a half moon and the sun at the same time. Idiots. They've turned the moon on but not the stars.
Or actually was it the moon was a reflection of the sun? Canny interesting that as the sun is now WNw in the sky and moon is SW in the sky. Some dome to reflect that.
