Martí Cifuentes

Cifuentes didn’t cover himself in glory in a high pressure environment at a Hammarby, so I’d be very wary of him coming to a club as big as us. I don’t see what box he ticks other than “better than Ainsworth” and his football isn’t particularly effective.
lol...complete non sequitor you have posted there...

but even beyond that..he cant have been bad at that club..he was still employed there when qpr poached him..he reached a cup final as welll...the idea he didnt succeed there is ludicrous

its the model thats the problem..nit the requirement-if that exists anywhere outside of the fantasies on here-to hace dodds on board
I agree that the next head coach should be asking if the model can be adjusted so we can get an experienced forward for example. If Speakman is unsure then how can they commit to us?

Not sure what the LOL is but you’re missing something. He was on the way out of Hammarby anyway. Very much a case of jump before he was pushed because he couldn’t cope with the big boys in a league which isn’t he comparable to the Championship.

Not too sure that is the case. When has speakman thrown anyone under the bus? Fair enough he's made a botch job of the last two windows and this appointment up to now but never thrown anyone under the bus
Mowbray? He surely asked Speakman for a forward. Got fired. Th e wheels on the bus go round and round.....

the model does not in itself preclude the signing of an experienced forward..it precludes paying fees for players over a certain age..but experienced forwards can be younger than that age or not cost fees..

You also have to remember the 6 game losing streak they went on in the middle of the first half of the campaign where they lost 3-1 to Coventry City at home, Leeds Utd away 1-0, 4-0 at home to Blackburn Rovers, Huddersfield (now relegated) and WBA both away respectively 2-1 and 2-0 and finally Leicester City 2-1 at home.
That wouldn’t happen to be the 6 game losing streak that led to Ainsworth being sacked and Cifuentes being appointed would it? Strangely enough, they only lost 1 in the following 7.

This has to be an act at this point.

and there is the non sequitor! you are learning..
if its a shit league AND HE WASNT MANAGING ONE of the big boys..
then how was he in the high pressure enviornment..either it was high pressure because he was at one of the big boys with the pressure...or he was on a smaller club with little pressure..
and if the league is as shit as you say..there are none as big as SAFC ANYWAY..

Just posting what I saw based on watching his teams play. No more than that.

If he hasn't tweaked the model for the managers we have had and have turned us down, why would he now? Absolute stubbornness how we've cried out for a experience striker and couldn't get one and to try and stick with Semedo and Burstow

Did fairly well in the pressure situation at QPR having to keep them up.

Yes, seems to have done a good job but QPR aren’t as volatile and well-funded as Hammarby and certainly don’t have the expectations of Sunderland.

But you never know what you’ll get until they get here. I thought it was a positive that Beale had the mental strength to come after having a difficult time at Rangers. But it ended up a disaster.

I’m not arguing any of that as it’s all guesswork what would happen.

He had pressure at QPR though, and he kept them up quite comfortably in the end. 1.5 points per game is 69 points across a full season, which is what we got when we finished 6th and usually has you top 9 at worst. Decent.

Can I just say, You must be on new Meds as your diction, punctuation and dare i say, the SHOUTING, has improved remarkably these past few weeks.

That is Unless your a different Kildare🤭

It is guesswork. Gone are the days of knowing what you’ll get and any of those who are consistent (Robins, Farke etc) aren’t even guaranteed to get teams out of this league. Managers like Big Sam who can keep the fans, players and board happy seem to be like gold dust and certainly not in the Championship.

I thought it was quite abusive towards me but you never know people’s personal circumstances so always prefer to give the benefit of the doubt. One man’s Salmon pants is another man’s beige chinos I suppose.

Anyone who reads anything Kildare post needs to take it with a pinch of salt mate.. there are many alter egos who post as Kildare, none have the mindset to post anything of note. Note! from your posting with them, the total lack of spelling errors is a first but go back a few months and you would know how an idiots brain works;)

Hi lads.

I've not read all 27 pages here so apologies if I'm repeating any other sentiment. Just wanted to give you guys an idea of the job this guy did for us last year...

We were awful under Ainsworth at the beginning of the season. Like really awful. Beyond awful really. I really can't describe how bad we were, it was probably the worst I've ever seen us be over a sustained period. We did absolutely nothing offensively in any way whatsoever for weeks / months on end. Funnily enough one of the better performances I saw was at home to you when Colback got sent off and you beat us 3-1. That really was somewhat of a bright spot. That gives you an idea of how bad we were.

Then Cifuentes came in and almost overnight fixed our defense. Then slowly and surely started to find ways to score a goal or two whilst keeping defensively solid. Since Christmas we had sustained periods of playing well, winning points and being genuinely entertaining too. I cannot speak highly enough of what Cifuentes did last year. He basically picked us off the absolutely floor and within weeks had us in top 6 (ish) form for the rest of the season almost immediately. What's even more impressive is we had been rotting for a full 12 months before he arrived. We had turned completely putrid under that abhorrent charlatan Beale (can we share a voodoo doll?) before he scarpered, then neither Critchley nor Ainsworth could stop the rot in any way. We were lost at sea, a complete shambles and had been for a full 12 months.

Marti has never stayed anywhere very long over his career and is clearly very ambitious so might well move on this summer. I'd anticipated him moving to a parachute payment club to be honest but maybe he likes the look of your young lads and thinks he can get you up.

You'd do well to find a QPR fan with a single bad word to say about him, he was absolutely sensational with us last year. We're all desperate for him to stay but personally resigned to us probably having to thank him for the life support and wish him well this summer. If he does come to you, you are in for a treat. The guy is an absolute genius. I think I mean that literally. He will go to the top, I've no doubt about that. After what he did for us last year I'll enjoy seeing him there too. As long as it's not Chelsea obviously.

Good luck this year. Please find a new manager soon that isn't called Marti Cifuentes, I beg you.
