Liam Rosenior

They were from British clubs and though young, will have been a lot less settling in than some child from a foreign academy. But, as you say, could have been a fluke and Speakman got drunk on their success
Michut also was better than what came later from abroad.
Mind you, I suppose there’s also an argument that with no proper manager there to improve them they had no chance?
I don’t rate Ba, Burstow, Hemir, Aouchiche, Mundle etc myself

I’m really starting to wonder if the Mowbray season, and those early buys and loans of this regime ( Clarke, Cirkin, Amad etc) were just a fluke?
The best work was done in league 1 and in the summer of our first season back in the championship, since then the recruitment, especially moving the focus to outside of the uk has been steadily in decline. The decisions made last season by the owner and Speakman made the club look amateurish at best.

I think Ba has shown promise though I have no idea where he plays and I’m not sure he does. Mundle looks ‘keen’ and Aouchiche has something though I’m still not sure what and whether it’ll be aligned to this league

If we’d kept Mowbray we’d have had an ok season, not as good as the first but ok. And this summer with the continuity we would be putting a really strong team together to challenge. With the feeling it would be Mowbray’s last.
That would have been the sensible way to do it.
Obviously that’s not counting him getting ill…:(

Personally I'm delighted that he isn't coming to SAFC. He was never the answer and would have gone the distance within 6 to 9 months or so. What it does show on the part of Rosenior is common sense and a realisation that he was onto a loser right from the start.

SAFC cannot go on as they are ie putting Dodds up as some sort of answer to the Asst Manager issue. He is a youth coach and that's where he should disappear back to. It's bizarre how Speakman has such a devotion to him at first term level.

the club is all over the place here and this part of the model simply wont work.

Its pathetic and I cant believe that anyone with then interests of the club at heart sees SAFC's position as one that's tenable.

I never wanted Mowbray gone, the team started struggling when he was attempting to bring in the inexperienced lads and the lack of a striker and dcm was killing us, mind he still had us 3 points outside of the play offs. The reason that the owner gave for his sacking was that they wanted someone to take us to the next level, how on earth they ended up with Beale as the answer God only knows. To then give Dodds the job till the end of the season and what is going on now trying to get in a head coach should be setting off alarm bells with all our supporters.

Even with the poor bugger getting ill, from a selfish point of view, there would have been a better feel around the place, even with Doddsy in charge.
The cup tie fiasco would have definitely had a big effect but it wouldn’t have been the utter all-round clusterfuck Dodds>Beale>Dodds was

Yep
They’ve got two options from here with all the time it’s taking they pull someone out the bag where we all sit up and take notice or they appoint some no mark who you can just tell just wants a job shit or bust for them really
Along with the managerial fiasco the recruitment this summer will tell you everything about the owner and what his intentions are here
Put themselves under so much unnecessary pressure this last twelve months it’s scary
Last may they had the fans full of enthusiasm about the future, full 180 In 12 months, crazy

I presume the football business is quite close knit in a way.
I could imagine Rosenior giving Mowbray a call and asking him his experience. Which would then be confirmed when he’d meet Speakman and hear what he had to say

Nowt new but it’s reputable reporting on what we have all been speculating about.
Cheers, I'd somehow missed the bit on Rosenior having actually withdrawn as a candidate.

It doesn't make for great reading but hope springs eternal despite my current lack of faith in the process.

What really worries me is we have been here before, and they haven't come through. Transfer windows aplenty when waiting for a striker, and giving us Beale last time out for example.

You'd hope the pressure/criticism from fans and the media would count for something, but I genuinely think they are incapable of recognizing their own mistakes.

Cheers for the link, summarises the 10,000 posts from here very well

Ye of little faith.

Trust the process.

Trust the data.

Trust the leadership.

How anyone can be questioning anything after the numerous superb examples of effective recruitment, robust succession planning, key investment and top notch communication baffles me.

Tough crowd you lot.

I'm off to have my brekkie and do my morning happy 👏 👏 👏.

Some people are just so critical and are constantly looking to find fault wherever they can.

KLD, Speaks and the boys are on it. Chill out lads 'n' lasses. We are in safe hands.
