MATCH THREAD: Durham v Leicester Foxes 🦊

The number 8 bus, Prefab Sprout,Horner’s Toffees, The Ghost of Lumley Castle , Deanery School, The Friday Market, Your boys have taken one helluva of a beating tonight

Even though we lost Lee’s,Bedingham and Robinson cheaply better game management would have won it.
Turners run out was suicidal plus poor contributions by Raine,Bushnell Coughlin and Potts with the bat weren’t helpful

This.

Some of the strokemaking and shot selection was stupid. Most of their bowlers will come out of that with excellent figures, but I don’t think they bowled all that great, namely Hull. He was all over the place with his lines and lengths and with the pace he bowls at, we missed a massive trick by not simply judging him around more.

Clark annoyed me most of all of our batsmen, because he absorbed far too many dot balls. I know people will disagree and balk at that because he was the games highest scorer, but he faced almost half the balls in our innings and scored his runs at well below the asking rate. That puts pressure on others to come out and whack it. I stand by my thoughts on that.

Clark at fault and conversely had Clark taken the bullet and left Turner in he’d have seen us home.

Well regardless whether Durham won or lost but turned up tonight to watch a game of T20 on a tricky two paced wicket and huge boundaries. Both batting teams basically knocked it about unless it was a rank bad ball.
Not sure why Durham continues with this policy but its not what t20 is about. The attendence wasn't as bad as what it looked like it was going to be half an hour before play but it was as flat as a fart. If they continue to produce wickets like that and boundaries that big then the lack of t20 entertainment will continue. Mind the temperature didnt help.

We were always hanging on until the last over.
I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the crowd, but the Co Durham Stand was sparsely occupied unsurprisingly.
Let’s hope the weather is better on Sunday and a large crowd turn up.

Yep, I agree on the pitch issue, they’ve had nearly two weeks (or is it more, my memory is shite) to prepare a pitch for this and I don’t believe that was the best they could’ve produced.

👏👏

I also thought the commentary was really poor too

Felt like a funeral at times

Very poor but I'm not going to blame Clarky for that as he's batted well here. The others need to take a long look at themselves as that was pathetic.
He didn’t bat well like, wasted too many balls, for an opener to eat up as many balls is unacceptable, oh and he pathetically ran out Turner.

Had Raine, Robinson, Potts, Coughlin batted sensibly like Clark did we would have won the game. It didn't need anyone to go bezerk needing 7 and over at the start. Too many cheap wickets and it's inexcusable time & time again. It's most definitely a mentality thing at home. I said during the game some of our bowling choices were bizarre and I stand by that also
