I'd never heard of Neil. but remember being not that impressed. With Mowbray I seem to recall saying he was a solid choice but would never get us promoted. He never got us promoted.
Perhaps you should check the link that another poster added who replied to my post.
Basically, your go to response is to be negative. Lighten up ffs.

Even pre-dating that - Alex Neil jumped ship despite seemingly being in a great position, the biggest gentleman in the game Tony Mowbray cut a frustrated figure and I even remember shortly after Tony took the job Chris Wilder made comments to the tune of 'we all know what's going on there at Sunderland and good luck to Tony but I wouldn't be going there' which seemed odd at the time.

Speakman, from the outside, seems like a toxic character that rubs up managers. I like the sporting director idea and model but the manager always seems to be battling against Speakman rather than being helped/listened to.

I dont get the thing with Speakman personally. Never thought he was toxic (my opinion based on nowt but the interviews). But I take on board everything else youre saying!

Also managers in the past have taken jobs with batshit owners and DoF. It's got to be more then that.

I mean Sheffield Wednesday got a manger despite the owner trying to get the fans to pay the tax bills, his mate doing the transfers and them being bottom with zero points...
