I understand the fans concerns around the delay in appointing a new head coach. We've held discussions with a number of candidates but unfortunately have hit some stumbling blocks which is very frustrating and has led to the process being delayed. We acknowledge last season was unacceptable on a number of fronts and we need to all pull together in the right direction behind a candidate who can push us forward. We continue to work hard in the background and hope to announce the new appointment in the near future.

Seems like a completely unnecessary word to use. If he’d said something like “our recruitment process is ongoing and we will update supporters as soon as agreement is reached with the chosen candidate” but by using imminently he quite understandably makes fans think something is going to be announced within a day or so.

We acknowledge last season was a proper piss take on a number of fronts and we need to fool everyone that it may be different, even if we get a shite candidate who speaks a load of corporate bs. We continue to work in a haphazard way in the background and hope to announce the new appointment, any appointment in the near future.

When I saw KLD’s statement on Friday saying that the appointment would be imminent, I thought ‘oh well, within the next week at least’.

It should have been sorted well before now - I honestly expected an announcement by the end of May - but I think the sub-text to his statement was ‘within the next week’.

Of course, he could have just been covering for yet another failure behind the scenes.

Time will tell.

The word hopefully in the statement negates the word imminent .
