But in a game of bish bash bosh cricket where Scotland were going at a reasonable rate when they went off, continued at an even better rate, then England from their ten overs need nineteen more.
There are cleverer people than me worked the formula out, my brain just doesn’t compute it.

Yeah, I do understand the concept, but feel in the context of this game the formula is failing, Scotland were doing canny before the delay, never mind I’m just a confused spectator.
 
Can somebody explain why Englands power play is 3 overs, despite Scotland getting a full 6 over power play?

I’m with you I don’t understand it at all, not saying it’s wrong just I don’t get it.
