Safe Standing

My only comment to David Bruce was that comms need to be really strong because, even though it's bloody obvious you're meant to stand, the fact the seats are still usable might well mean that someone will say they want to sit. Hopefully very few would do that, but the club need to be clear that standing is to be expected (again, I know it's obvious, but there's nowt as strange as people!). I reckon on the whole people will be happier with the arrangement we've got tbh, seems canny that you can get a seat at half time if you want

Rest assured people will moan. There's one thing for sure about a section of our fanbase. They love a good moan.

Wish they were getting fitted where we sit.

I don't see how having 2 vertical rails in front of every seat provides more leg space than an open space like.

No one sits at the Celtic game in the safe standing section, was at the St Mirren game 2 weeks ago.

might sound like a daft question, cos as i said earlier in the thread this isnt something i know much about, so in purely out of interest and hopefully not getting pelters for simply asking(as i know its an emotive subject) isnt part of a safe standing area that theres the option to sit if so desired - cos if not, why are the seats still there?
Are they not allowed to remove them completely?

You do realise the South Stand is the singing section where everyone stands. It even tells you when you buy the season ticket. :confused:

It’s impressive how those running the club can manage to fuck every single thing up. If the club was ran properly no one would have a gripe.

Need the seats for when we qualify for Europe ;)

There's not meant to be an option to sit during the games. Most safe standing areas use the rail seats which are effectively locked in the "up" position during the game. They're only down if needed for Europe/ concerts etc. They'll keep the seats in case they're needed, but during the match the expectation is that everyone will stand. If someone was to complain that they want to sit and now can't see I'd expect them to get very little sympathy tbh. If people want to sit during the game and are in that area they should get in touch to move their seat. I think most in there stand anyway, but you can expect one or two to be awkward, which would have been sorted if the rail seating was used so instead they just need to make the position very clear

If there's more space to stand there will also be more space to sit (with the seat being set further back). Seats don't look comfy but they're not intended to due to it being a standing area and people standing.

Everyone in that area has stood for the best part of 10 years. Now they just have something to lean on.
