Too soon for Henderson to come back?

I’d take him back in a heartbeat. Yeah he made a mistake by going over to Saudi but shit happens. I’ve worked for a few state owned oil companies over the years but it doesn’t mean I’m gonna throw my gay cousin off the top of the house or give my lass 2 black eyes for showing her arm in public.

Were you already a multi millionaire when you worked for them?

Mind, if Sunderland supporters do a volte face on this issue because Henderson signs then any moral high ground is given up

I fail to see what the problem is with that.
If it's genuine principles then there's nothing wrong with it. If it's simply because they don't want the mags to start with the 'whataboutry', then they're just being daft. I wouldn't judge individuals though as only they know which it is. I've dealt with the lad personally and he's definitely not forgotten where he's from. That I can say with certainty.

Interesting, he’d have to take a huge pay cut for that to ever be possible
Him and his Dad apparently approached the club towards the end of the 2022/23 season making it clear that he’d be interested in a return.

Personally wouldn’t want him back here after the Saudi farce.

Him just being there would be the unacceptable face of the grass always being greener elsewhere. We need to somehow stop the rot. Accepting back has beens on bender knees is not the answer.
The lad moved on to play for Liverpool, the grass absolutely was greener and these players know it without him telling them.

The grass will always be greener at Liverpool. It's not like he left for a small club

I know it would be used against us but it’s a single player who spent 4 months playing in Saudi Arabia and (comically) didn’t actually get paid. Against the fact that the club up for the road are quite literally owned and funded by paedophiles, terrorists and frequent murderers. There’s just no equivalence.

Would we not sign someone who had played for City because they followed the oil money? Or Chelsea under Abramovich before? Just asking

I was really disappointed that JH moved to Saudi. I thought he was better than that. It doesn’t make him Joey Barton though

Exactly. States shouldn’t be allowed to own Premier League clubs.

What do you mean stop the rot. There’s not a single club in English football that isn’t a “selling club”

There is if people attempt to start providing all sorts of defences for him.
