Keel Crossing [opened 18.10.25] - compendium thread

Certainly close to that stage id say. Theres still quite a bit of rebar sticking up so maybee some more shuttering and concrete pours to build it up higher.
I know its just I cannot see that foundation base getting much higher if you compare it to the drawing - the re-bar that sticking up makes it a much higher base if thats all going to be poured and shuttered

Been back out today. Pillars starting to pick up on the banks

Unrelated question, but what’s happening with them apartments wrapped with that purple stuff on the southside of the water (first photo)? Heard the contractor for them went bust?

The support pillars will be built to the height of the bridge surely. With concrete?

tolent went bust, then wates couldnt agree with the council to complete for the price they wanted - council are now going to complete the job by themselves, when its going to start up again is the million dollar question

Just been past the Durham riverside job Tolent went bust on. Still not open. Ive heard theres massive problems with the fire stopping on there.

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that it's not due to be opened until summer next year. Plenty time to get it right seeing as they came up with a technique that is a world first

Just looking on here and it looks like concrete all the way to the bridge platform.

you might be right, however I wouldnt thought they would be poured on site - I would expect them to be re-cast and dropped in

*Might be completely wrong like! Im sounding like some wanna be bridge engineer
