Visiting their brewery last year was a very special experience. Marzen served straight from the wooden barrel. Class.
Bamberg is a brilliant little town to visit if you ever get the chance. Smoked beer mecca. Really unique beer culture, there's nowhere else like it.
In the UK it's worth keeping an eye on Torrside if you enjoyed smoked stuff. They specialise in it and they're very good.
Haven't eaten there but it's a nice stop off on way from Free Trade or Two by Two up to Cluny, Ship etc. Food looked canny last time we were there

Just in Sainsburys. 440ml can of Punk IPA is £2.50 & on 4 for 3. £1.88 a can. Does this now put them right into the mainstream mass produced category?
Yes. I'd rather pay more for summat better. Something of a trailblazer in years gone by it's a bang average bland pale now.

I'd go a step further and say that it's actually a bad IPA now. Really don't like it anymore
Don't think I've had it for a long time. It'd be rare I was somewhere that sold it where there weren't better options.

Who’s going to the Vaux Craft Beer Festival? At the minute 5 of us are there on the Saturday night, but I expect a few with fomo to join in.

Not sure if it was posted on here but James Watt has stepped down as CEO as well. Only there as a non exec director now. Wonder how long it'll be before they're sold or start trading on the stock market. Been rumoured for ages.
Seems to be a big weekend for beer festivals. Will probably stop into Wimbledon Brewery's one tomorrow.

Haven’t bought any Chubbles this year like. If I see any I’ll probably pick it up, but I’m not making a trip for it.
That Wimbledon one looks great actually, they've got some Belgian stuff on don't they? I quite liked their taproom and the beers were good too. Had a spot on saison iirc which is not very common.
Yeah, the Belgian stuff is what's appealing to me most. Seems fairly reasonably priced too, I think. Shame the weather's not looking too good.

The Vaux V was superb in the Saltgrass last night, the keg version is possibly the best thing they've done
