Hopefully get the lead down to under 100 before we’re all out.

Think he's from Zimbabwe, he mentioned about watching a lot of his cricket at Harare or something.
The remarkable thing about this innings is that all wickets that have fallen so far are to a spinner and the one that wasn't was a run out. That says something about the pitch imho, and it also says something about our seamers. ie it confirmed that they didn't have much to work with pitchwise.

Aye, almost 29. Not really a kid or in his early career anymore.
Hopefully our lass climbs the page three stunner tree and when she falls out she hits every branch on the way downThe most telling thing for me is how little their skipper has bowled their seamers. Clearly knows the pitch is garbage and doesn’t fancy bowling them into the ground.
Hopefully come back tomorrow and still batting.
Didn't realise they were close to the end of play as haven't watched any of the live stream. Durham have done very well today.Raine and Parkinson have done well there.
I think before we look at other counties we need to look at ourselves and how are we going to take 20 wickets to win on these wickets.I've been disappointed/surprised about the number of teams we have faced this year who have been defensive and happy to settle for the draw. Hampshire being a prime example in this game by batting too long and not looking to increase the scoring rate at any point during the 145+ overs, and then in the field having a number of fielders on the boundary happily letting us tick along under no pressure.
Struggle for a lot of sides at the moment with the flat wickets. Doesn't make for exciting cricket, but Durham have done what is needed again so far today. Need to start and see some better prepared wickets. Hopefully Blackpool produces that.I think before we look at other counties we need to look at ourselves and how are we going to take 20 wickets to win on these wickets.
The pitch issue is another thing most counties need to reconsider, it goes hand in hand with too many teams settling for draws. It says a lot that the best wicket we have seen from a Durham perspective for the bat/ball balance has been an outground (Kidderminster).I think before we look at other counties we need to look at ourselves and how are we going to take 20 wickets to win on these wickets.
One thing Durham seamers aren't doing this season is swinging the ball. I have just watched the part of Warwickshire innings at the Oval and they have been bundled out by reverse swing.Struggle for a lot of sides at the moment with the flat wickets. I was a bit surprised when the ECB increased the number of points for a draw this season back to what it was. Despite this, we've been second best in those games and come out with fewer batting and bowling points than the opposition. Worcestershire aside, our much vaunted bowling attack has struggled (our leading wicket taker is the attritional Parkinson) and there's a weakness in the upper batting order caused by a makeshift opener with an exploitable weakness.
Disappointing how he hasn't kicked on. I'm with England on this debate. He should bowl flat out for impact and not worry about figures. Also fuck knows why we signed Glover.
