Ross Stewart

He will go down on those lists as a £12m flop I’m afraid. Shame. As he worked so hard and deserved the opportunity to show what he could do taken away by an awful injury

I find it crazy he didn’t get a sniff for Scotland even when he was fit. By comparison I don’t think anyone would pay £10m+ for an injured dykes or shankland.
He has a few caps. And League One is utter shite. No one was paying any money like what we received for him based purely on League One. Albeit watching him every week we all knew.

Even when he was flying for us in the championship he got in a couple of squads and only got 5 mins here and there.

Also L1 is equal to the SPL imo. The likes of mcgeoch, Jordan jones and McLaughlin all came down with good reps from the SPL and didn’t really shine in L1.

Supposedly expected to make the bench for the last game of the season and be fit to feature in the play offs at a push

We get more money if they go up??
How fking good it felt to have a fit Loc Ness Drogba in our squad. Knowing we had, effort and abilty wise, one of the best in the championship.

How fking times change…..

Wish him all the best. Scotland are crying out for a player like him. Very unlikely but would be buzzing if he makes it to the euros.

Nah it’s really not like League One, not the top end anyway. Look at that Mikey Johnston at West Brom, couldn’t get a game at Celtic.

And he was always injured during the international breaks in the Championship.

I wonder if Southampton go up if theyd want to send RS out on loan.

Sounds daft considering the money they spunked on him but then hes hardly kicked a ball in the last 2 years, would be difficult for him to get back up to speed in the Prem.

Would be ironic if we loaned him for half a season and paid his wages!
He seems to be done , plus he wanted out of here 🥱

Aye. Mowbray talked in the same talk in about the job was to find Stewart no.2 from another Ross County if he went. He did go & se didn’t find anywhere near that player.

Hopefully Hemir & Mayenda show in years to come we pulled one out of the bag, but we needed the Sunderland Ross Stewart, not the Ross County one when we had zero other options.
I don’t think we got any of the strikers that we intended to replace him with. I reckon Simms, Cannon, Stansfield and possibly Delap were our targets and suspect the latter three could well still be.

The top end being only Celtic and Rangers the rest is likely L1.

Or Che Adams. I want Stewart to do well, we all know how good he is/was. Either way he's got security for his family.

The worrying thing is, Stewart was signed because of Lee Johnson. Not our scouts.

Brian McDermott had been watching him I think, our current setup had barely been in place unless I'm getting dates mixed up.

I’m not sure. I remember thinking the same about Craig Gordon, who went through a lot worse, and he turned it around after looking like it would never happen. There are examples on both sides, I know.

I’d love him back here to rebuild himself, on the right terms. He was a complete player, on and off the pitch.
