Peter Siddle to Durham

take it from that that Boland is crocked
was a good player but hes 39, not sure what i make of this signing
He took 16 wickets at 24.12 last season for Somerset from 5 matches(8 innings)

Only Gregory and Henry averaged less than him for Somerset.

His Blast stats aren't as good. But I'd have rather we used Bedders alongside Turner as our two overseas players anyway. I didn't want Boland taking Bedders spot.

As well as his County 2023 stats here's how he got on this years Sheffield Shield. A teammate of Boland for Victoria.

14 wickets at 28.28 from 4 matches(7 innings)

Don't see the logic in this. He's not a bad bowler but he's 39 and we have plenty of younger RFM's who can bat as well.

I think that’s a really astute signing.

Bags of experience and still has genuine quality. The young lads will only benefit by having him around and an added character in the changing room.

Potts and Carse will miss games, possibly both at the same time. You can't rely on Coughlin's fitness, guess they're making sure we always have Raine and another experienced bowler about. Looks like they want to make sure we stay up/are competitive rather than risking playing kids. If that's their long term approach then it is a worry.

Weird one, kind of like him as cover, but wouldn't have him in ahead of Potts, Raine, Carse, Coughlin etc.

So expensive cover.

Better check that the local greengrocers have an adequate supply of bananas. I read he eats 14 a day or something equally daft. I like him as a cricketer.

and, of course, he's a known quantity, whereas Boland wasn't in county cricket

Are any of Gibson, McAlindon, Hogg, Robinson, Bushnell good enough though?

If they were they'd get picked it's a simple as that.
