VAR has ruined top level football.

The games gone yet today I witnessed an unbelievable cup tie which had me on the edge of my seat until the last second .

Pleased I don’t go anymore, when you can’t celebrate goals until someone in a studio miles away has spent 5 minutes checking it.
I can remember going delirious at Camp Nou in 1999 when Ole’s goal went in, imagine thinking ‘oh better wait to celebrate until all the VAR checks are done’
This is a myth as fans still go mad when goals go in as you can see on the TV. Looking at this clip just after the players go mental celebrating, I don't think many Coventry fans have just stood there after that goal went in and said "Oooh, could be offside so best wait before I go mental".

What could have happened is that the linesman thought it was offside and then flags it. He would instantly kill those celebrations above yet what about if VAR then corrects it later? What happens now is that the linesman doesn't flag offside as often as they did in the past. That's why I'd say 90% of the time a VAR decision for onside/offside is usually offside when a linesman hasn't flagged.

How many times can you recall a linesman flag offside after a goal only for VAR to correct it? It's not many at all as it's always fans of the team getting the decision against them bringing up the "offside by a toenail" and rarely is it opposition fans complaining about it being "onside by a toenail". Like I said it's because the linesman won't flag it and kill the celebrations in case he gets it wrong and it also takes all the hate/vitriol away from them for disallowing a goal.

The sport we all grew up with and loved has gone, unfortunately. From.Var favouring the big money clubs
I’m no fan of VAR but it doesn’t favour the big money clubs. People have been accusing refs of bias to these clubs long before VAR. it’s nonsense. Peak United under Fergie at Old Trafford people were forever whinging about how many pennas they got compared to the opposition. Guess what when you spend about 80 minutes in the opposition box and they spend 10 seconds in yours you are going to get more penalties than them.

Most VAR decisions I’ve seen have been the correct call. I don’t like VAR and would bin it tomorrow but because it sucks the life out of the game for match going supporters not because it makes biased calls.

Call me naive but can someone please explain what part of the body has to be deemed the offside part. I ask this because to me first of all the foot looks level. Is it feet then that are offside as to me the Man U player seems like his arm is keeping the player on or do arms not count. I’m being genuine here by the way.

Arms don't count. If you zoom in on the picture the lines aren't in the right place. He was onside.

You mean it gave the correct decision ?
I suppose it was far better when the likes of Lampard's "goal" against Germany was not given or Henry's blatant handball knocked Ireland out . It was far better then .
To be fair goal line technology is great. It's black and white. I guess offside is the same and my biggest gripe is probably with the offside rule in general rather than VAR.

As for the rest of it, utterly pointless. Slow motion replays making everything look worse, the VAR officials being terrified of overruling the referee. "Going over to the monitor". It's just daft.

Spontaneity, I much prefer human error than everthing being so robotic.
