Will also be thereDry cleaning tomorrow at the Grove. Haven’t been to the Grove but have walked past it a few times on my way to two by two taproom. Couple of pints in there and just round the corner for the gig.

no offence taken. she's got a dry sense of humour, for someone quite young. sounds like the programming could have been better and helped everyone.Aye thats fine, but i can tell you it didn't come across as witty because i heard a few people comment on it.
no offense to your mates bairn, its kind of like mason burstow or michael beale, not their fault but she should have played first then lotti or have played in the brew bake area. A quiet lass on her own wasn't hyping the crowd up for futureheads.
The entire thing was a shambles to be fair. The comedy (which wasnt funny anyway) was in a tiny room so loads of people never bothered, the bars were just total shit, under staffed and under stocked (can only imagine how bad the queues would have been if they actually had beer to sell).no offence taken. she's got a dry sense of humour, for someone quite young. sounds like the programming could have been better and helped everyone.![]()
Was just thinking about gigs in the town. The Isis are putting a couple on upstairs, and the only one I have atm is Vistas @ Independent.Got quite a few in this month.
The Leisure Society @ The Cluny 19th April
SLUG ! @ Sea Change 21st April
Giant Sand @ The Cluny 22nd April
Adrienne Lenker (Big Thief) @ The Factory Manchester 25th April
Its a shame that there isnt much happening in town in terms of gigs with smaller indie acts . Pop Recs had quite a bit on last year but has been very quiet for gigs this year so far.
Im sure ive been to a couple but the only one im sure about is the always excellent mr ben and the bens.Pop Recs had quite a bit on last year but has been very quiet for gigs this year so far.
Pet hate queuing at the bar like. Hate it.Busiest I've seen it here in The Grurrve. Bar is three deep
Jimbob is on there soon isn't he?Im sure ive been to a couple but the only one im sure about is the always excellent mr ben and the bens.
Not sure last time i was in there the posters they had up for gigs ended that weekJimbob is on there soon isn't he?
Starsailor were great tonight at the fire station. Saw @Mackem00 mooching through the bar before the gig.
Liked James' shout out about how much a fantastic venue it is and that there's life in the north east outside of Newcastle.

Think there’s 3 new gigs announced. Jim Bob is one. But I’d like to see more. Not sure last time i was in there the posters they had up for gigs ended that week
I was looking forward to it but I didn’t think it worked. The vocals and lyrics were lost in the whole sound. I enjoyed the night but the music deserves a better production. I’m not normally too bothered either but the songs are so good it was a disappointing performance.Dry Cleaning were decent, first time I've seen them at a much smaller venue. Bit of an acquired taste, and it's probably best knowing their stuff before seeing them. Vocals were okay(ish), think they're always going to be a challenge, with a pretty monotonal voice.
And to the lass that bollocked that raggy-tached cnt, who spoke all the way through the set: I want to marry you.

Didn't see you mate. Gig was spot on. Nice to see Andrew Cushin's mag crack was taken in good nature. Seems a canny lad. Starsailor were excellent. I am rough as toast now mind and getting ready to go to a princess themed 3rd birthday party.Starsailor were great tonight at the fire station. Saw @Mackem00 mooching through the bar before the gig.

It's a class venue like.
Which princess are you dressing up as?
Think that might be General Public rather than The Beat? The Beat split in 1983 then Roger and Wakeling worked together in General Public for a few years. They were quite big in the US though never really as popular hereProbably. Had no idea there were 2 versions. I just looked up Beat setlists yesterday and was confused that they somehow played Ohio and Portsmouth on March 30 - Phil Collins / Live Aid vibes![]()
Starsailor were fantastic and it was my first time to the venue, which is absolutely brilliantWas class the night Starsailor like.
