CC : Durham v Hampshire

I was chatting to a lad at the Riverside yesterday who was bemoaning the lack of a blue cap wit the traditional county badge (rather than the pussy cat - or the dog as he called it). Said he was told in the shop there would only white ones available this season. I suspect he might be a poster on here. If so, guess what I saw through the shop window when leaving the ground earlier today?

Everywhere else with plenty of game time. Has it really rained any more in Chester than all those places? Unlikely
Vic Demain explains it in his interview (post #193 on this thread). He also gave a talk to members in January saying that the weather we’ve had this winter was the worst he’d known and was bound to affect ground preparations

Yeah fair enough I’m not trying to call anyone out, I’m just sure other clubs will have had similar amounts of rain.

And it's been just as bad since Vic's appearance at the Members Meeting in January if not worse. At this point I'll put my Eric Olthwaite Hat on  and say that since March 1 we've had 26 days of significant rainfall (by significant I don't just mean half an hour of light drizzle) and its only April 7th.

Right I'm off to get me Spear & Jackson shovel before anyone says 'Oh shut up ya boring little tit!' or starts pretending they're French.*

* For any young uns out there watch Michael Palin's 'Ripping Yarns'
Some very dark clouds rolling in from the west at the moment
Raining again in Ch le Street.:(

One positive if the match is abandoned is the Durham seamers have one less round with the kookaburra ball to struggle with
