SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

In the stadiums location I wouldn't be so confident that carbon steel fixings would be fine over a prolonged period of time
Unless they used 316/L, then the likelihood is that any stainless fixings would sharp oxidise and be susceptible to pitting corrosion etc… coated/treat carbon would more than suffice. The design engineers would take all this into account, they wouldn’t choose anything based on a whim and the insurance companies wouldn’t sign the structure off otherwise. The structure will have to be compliant to a code.

This is phase 2 , be interesting to see if the club where willing to met us know how many phases the stadium improvements are to come and what is involved

We’ve heard these kind of statements before and fuck all has happened ! Amazing how one statement with no real time scales (except we know ST renewal packs due?) has got some salivating uncontrollably. I suppose this is exactly what it was meant for ! Call me a cynic but I think this is also to mask over the BCB debacle and the zero action outcome from it.

Seems odd really then that the literal Charlton website publishes articles that include his view and where he describes himself as an owner.
he is "an owner" yes...where did i say he wasnt?
I said he is a small sharehodler with about 30 others..the charlton website simply says his stake is more than 5 per cent, and there are seven entities with 5 per cent or more..but some of those entities are companies owned by multiple other people..

He isnt a director of charlton though...and his recent copmments about the premier league funding deal..charlton distanced themselves from those...and said he wasnt speaking on behalf of charlton when he made them..

Good news, surely no one can turn this into a negative?
Nobody would turn the news of the intended work on the SOL or mention it’s announced on the same day that a 10% increase in season ticket prices no way.
That would be just crazy 😝

You don’t own anything with 5%, he’s a shareholder yes.
That money will be his ill gotten gains from selling his shares from us.
That he got for setting up a deal with ES to rob our club of the parachute payments (never paid back) nice man.

You would have to be either naive or very kind hearted to not be highly suspicious that this news is announced same day as season tickets renewals.

It’s the fist time KLD has said anything after the Black Cats bar fiasco of which there has been zero fallout I can’t trust a thing he says and have felt like that for a long time.

Lol...methven wouldnt have made much from "selling" his SAFC shares.
he owned 6 per cent...the club's most recent valuation was £30mn..6 per cent of £30mn is £1.8mn..minus the tax and huge ciorpate fees it wasnt worth the effort financially..though the increased profile..which is the only reason to own a club in the championship probably means methven is the only one of the Madrox three who came out of the safc debacle with a decent return..
The parachute payments were owned by SBC corporation..nothing to do with Metheven or donald..the club at least had its debt reduced...albeit short lied when he said he left it debt free..

The safc owners dont ave SAFC as the bnumber on thing in their lives like...neither work for the club..in sarotris case SAFC isnt even his main club..never mind his main job..but yeah its likely they announved some good news following a peirod of bad on pitch performance..doesnt stop the whining on here though..which is why an owner should never try to appease the fans...fans just whine whatever happens

So explain did he do well or not, I’m not sure from your answer, which is waffle basically.
The only reason Charlie Metvhen got a percentage of Safc was because he set up deal correct or not.
He never paid for shares.

depends on your definition of "well"
Yeah he probably got the shares for both setting up the deal and for working at the club..ie in lieu of salary.
He probably got the stake in charlton the same way..thats why I said SAFC worked out well for him...the profile he got from SAFC made it easier for him to set up other deals...not just for a football club..which isnt a very big deal..but for actual big businesses....driving both profits at his various companies..dragon and the corproate advisery one..and giving him equity in other things..

For context..methven owns a restauarnt and bar in oxfordshire...in the chilterns..thats probably worht more than his shares in SAFC ever were...or his shares in charlton are now..SAFC wasnt a big deal to him financially..made little direct difference..but it did raise his profile..which is whole point of why anyone buys a club..

You said there were 30 owners, stated you were talking facts and one link to Charlton's site disproved that?

there are between 20 and 30..the charlton website lists only those with 5 per cent or more..there are other owners with less than 5 per cent...and one of the owners with more than 5 per cent is a company with a lot of owners itself..

Read the link earlier in thread as that's saying the opposite of what you're claiming.
