SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

I reckon you'll probably see it's a miniority who won't renew. In my opinion ST sales will be fairly close to this seasons. They are far, far better than Donald and Methven but that argument has been done to death on here and it's quite obvious certain people have made their minds up and won't be changing their opinion no matter what the club does. We know they've made mistakes with recruitment and the BCB but they've also done a lot of good here inside the 3 years they've been in charge but people are making out it's been a disaster since day one which it very obviously isn't.
They look better when you compare them to donald thats for sure but if you compare them to other decent owners they look look penny pinching fools ...........not to provide the team with a championship standard striker is an utter utter shambles and cannot be hidden away from ..how many decent or even ok championship strikers do leicester, southampton,WBA ipswich, coventry,or any body in the division have??????.......just to remind you we have zero yes Zero!!! And yes it has not been all disaster but we escaped league one on luck we had one striker who had to stay fit (and did) to get us to promotion and if anyone thinks we would have got promoted that year without stewart in the team is a fool....last season the failure to replace stewart or provide defensive cover cost us a promotion in my book and well this season well it speaks for itself ....the state of the stadium the club shop is a disgrace but the adherence to this stupid model that will never work is the thing that will bring them down in the end.
Next season will open everybody's eyes and not in a good way!Plod on will be our Moniker for season after season until the old timers drop of their perch and the gates drop below 30 thousand as we dont have a product to attract new supporters!

You’d agree if it was a new carpet, but not if it’s a new pitch?
Fixing or incrementally improving a thing is just run rate expenditure i.e. maintenance and leveraging up to do it is worrying.

They're putting in a new undersoil heating system, so the relaying of the pitch will be lumped in with that project.

Incrementally improving isn't maintenance, keeping the status quo would be maintenance.

It’s a welcome announcement and while the SoL has been allowed to become very shabby and is definitely in need of refurbishment and upgrades.

Think we need to go further. Spurs’ stadium and Everton’s - at least looking at there plans for outside the stadium - have shown that a stadium needs to be a revenue machine and not just once or twice a fortnight.

Fans may not like it, but to improve our standing with FFP and P&SC we need to significantly increase different income streams that aren’t reliant on 1st team games.

Although retractable pitch and roof may be a little beyond us!
I think with the sheepfolds development and the new footbridge there could be a real opportunity for the club to up its revenue if it's clever about it. Should be a good footflow in the area if things take off

No lets be clear it started under Donald....ffs we were paying thousands a month on plants under short and thousands on a giant icemaker for bain.lets be clear where you a sunderland supporter under short?sorry i forgot your not even a Sunderland supporter now!
it wasd under durmaville i cam abroad..the drumaville of quinny..im a family friend of one of those owners and met several..
so short renting plants was an example of waste...not of running the stadium properly..
the colour of the seats faded under short..they were pink..
maybe if he bought seats ratehr than rent plants that would have helped

This has got to be lies , I read on hear KLD won't spend any money and he's selling the club , I'm sure someone will complain we are spending on the stadium instead of players
It's all welcome, but has the reported loan not paid for this rather than out of KLD's pocket?

Exactly. And I hope the business minded bods at the club are well along with plans to exploit that opportunity.

And there my confidence starts to wain.

So that’s what they are doing with their hidden millions. Shouldn’t they be spending more on appointing a good head coach and some decent players before toying around with the stadium?

Its welcome, but I do worry if its investing in the wrong place. People need a working roof and toilet before safe standing for away fans. Need to fix the essentials before focusing on improvements like this for me.

I don't think it's one or the other mate

Why do they keep banging on about the Roker End as our iconic home stand. Home end has always been the north. That said the rest of the improvements proposed will improve the matchday experience for everyone .
They gave that away to the mags
