SoL To Undergo Multi-Million-Pound Investment Programme

The police won’t allow it so it’ll never happen in our lifetime.

The police’s priority is filtering the fans in and out the stadium without the potential to meet each other. The away fan coaches just being outside the north upper turnstiles achieves that.

From 2018 it became mandatory for premier league clubs to put their away fans pitch side however the police override any regulation as they’re the law and they overruled St James Park and Old Trafford and would have done the same for Sunderland if they were still in the Premier league

So basically stop asking, it’ll never happen.
Could still put netting up though.

Nice to see the club listening to the fans eventually.

Shame it’s taken three years like.
its taken far less than three years..if they are announcing it now then they must have had to speak with archietects and other professionals for ages to get it to even this point..
if they take out a club loan does that not effect ffp or is ground improvements immune from this! if not thats even less to spend on players!
certaion ground work is immune from ffp

It's incredibly rare to get that level of spend back via an increased purchase price. Most buyers will simply rip the things out and go again irrespective of age.
it will depend on the estate agent valuation between shit kitchen verses decent one and whether its a buyers or sellers market.... generalisations are exactly what they say they are!

Where has the info about the 10m loan came from? Can't find the source or is it just a mate told me down the pub?
Just a rumour that's been going around. Apparently it's almost certain that any loan would have the ground or similar as collateral and would therefore appear on companies house. So the chances are pretty high that there hasn't yet been a loan taken out. If they're committing to spending quite a lot on the ground etc post season then maybe there's been discussions about the best way to fund it, so there could potentially be a loan later, but as of yet there's no evidence of one. If there was to be a loan it could just be due to cashflow and might not be a concern given the investment into the ground (it would be more of a concern if we were needing loans for "business as usual" costs).

Thanks GG

I still have an alarm Bell that a billionaire needs a 10m loan.

But hey
Quite a few billionaires run their companies on the back of loans, so it's not a new thing.

I'm sure @Grumpy Old Man can explain why using a loan is seen as a better option for a business than just chucking your own cash in.
Net worth =/= free cash. If I were a billionaire, I wouldn't cash in a £50m long term investment earning more than the interest on a £10m loan so I could stick £10m into a football club, I'd borrow the money instead.
Yeah, I think they all see KLD as living like Scrooge McDuck with a massive safe that he dives in and flings the cash about or just rocks up to an ATM and withdraws a couple of million a day.

How could you be moved? If you’ve had your seat for more than 20 years then there’s no chance it will be affected by the safe standing
If there's a block created for standing ( 1000) that will mean moving people .
It says in the bumf it will impact existing seat holders
Why is there SO MUCH anger on here?

If we ever became as successful as Man City, how would our more volatile fans vent their pent up frustrations?

I think a lot of wives, pets and children would end up getting battered
They shout at the club cos the bairns and pets and missus tell them to do one .
