British-Asian Ref tonight

no i think theyre tosspots
Very few asian football players in the UK let alone wider game despite 5.5m asians living in the UK. Already well documented that aspiring asian footballers have experienced significant racism in the game. So for 5.5m asians its really positive to see an asian man performing as a ref at the highest level. Gives them a good message that they can do the same. As I say, you might not give a shit but for asians who want a future in football its really positive.

So they're lying? They don't actually think it's important but pretend to? To what end?
makes them feel important or some such shite. the refs colour is utterly irrelevant

That's really interesting. I know some people think it is important and I know some people think it isn't important.

I've never heard of somebody who thinks that everybody who says they think representation is important is lying because they want to feel important
