India v England 3rd Test Rajkot

It was when other regimes were dropping players right left and centre English test fortunes were shit and players were frightened to play their natural game because of it and the pressure they were under.
I agree with a lot of the new regime, I’m not advocating dropping root, his bowling may well be detracting from his batting.
Bairstow on the other hand is closer to that.

I remember from the early 90s where batters/bowlers got 2 tests and dropped. Sometimes rightly dropped after incorrectly being selected. The new way is a lot better.

My point was that a lot of this new way is to mask shortcomings, the same way McCullum used to by hitting lucky with a big one occasionally.

May I add, we might lose this test by 200 runs, but I’d rather lose it this way than by an innings batting at 2an over

It’s a discussion forum. There’s not a lot to discuss when we win and play well. That’s ultimately why there’s less posts when we win. What do you want, 1000 posts kissing up to the same players and agreeing with each other? There’s obviously more to discuss when things go wrong, same in football (hence the match thread differences)
Same thing on the football threads, 3 pages of gifs or Gerrin when we score, 10 pages of moaning and blaming players (mainly Beale right now) when we concede

So at 1-1 in a series away in India (where our win was 1 of our greatest ever wins), your suggestion to a shit hours play is to drop a load of players, including probably our best ever batsman?
Root and Bairstow is a load now? This series won’t be 1-1 for long, we’ve basically lost this now. Against a team missing half their players due to various issues.

Yep, but like it or not there’s more to discuss when we lose than when we win - namely what we should have done or changed to win. Was the same in the pub with my mates after the Plymouth game - all shrugged and went “yes that was canny wasn’t it lads” and talked about whatever’s next. Not sure why people take this as a negative - it’s just boring posting when we win, as there’s nothing to discuss other than to congratulate the management and players on a job well done
You said large chunk
2 out of 6 batters is a large chunk last I checked
Kuldeep got big turn, Siraj got 2 yorkers.
Pitch is good to bat on for a day 3 in India
It’s flat as a pancake for Indian standards and easily the best time in the game to bat

Nobody said that either, point been this approach been miles more successful than previous approaches of dropping players left right and centre.

The facts and results are there to be seen
Again, so you’re saying we should accept whatever shite is served up now because it was worse under root? That’s not how it works - we should be looking to improve now on what hand we have, not accepting it

I'm just gutted we've imploded again.

I thought we'd learnt from Lords as that was the real litmus test under this side.

Sadly they've learnt absolutely nothing from it.

Root I'm just desperately sad that England best player is throwing away his talent.
