India v England 3rd Test Rajkot

Aggers on BBC
England have chucked it away. Test cricket is played over a long five days. You have to be tactically flexible and apply common sense, according to the match situation. England have failed spectacularly.

He’s much more obdurate than Root, my point is though that every time Root scored runs previously he always did it at a fair rate of knots anyway. Strike rates of 60+ whenever he got going - that’s more than quick enough for this regime.
Definitely, Root could be getting those scores that Williamson is by just playing his natural game.

And that is what they need to learn. It’s stubborn not to

Massive overreaction. However what isn’t an overreaction is Root. It’s ridiculous the way he is playing. He’s our best player and usually amazing in these conditions. If he bats well and more conventionally we would be in a far better position. The rest of the top 5 were out either lbw, Crawley to a poor shot and Duckett with 150 playing as he does. Root is the issue here imo

Exactly the very reason this team has been successful over this past 2 years completely transforming Englands test fortunes is because they have allowed players to play with freedom without the threat and pressure of been dropped which has plagued England test cricket for years.

Yet the poster wants to destroy all that be dropping our best batsman ever!!!

And why to teach him a lesson for buying into this brilliant way of looking at test cricket.

It’s a staggering lack of looking at the bigger picture
95/8 is brilliant? Heard it all now

I love the way they play, but I wish they’d find a balance in situations like this morning, and I hope they do learn lessons.

Dropping players is not the answer, certainly not dropping 2/3 of them (even if we had the players there to do so).

Root as people have said should just play normally.

Confused he has not personally, because the the way this regime sets up is to just let the players play their normal game without pressure.

So Root himself has to look at his own game and realise that, he experienced enough to do that

However people suggesting dropping him are completely bonkers imo

If Johnny B and Foakes dont get some big runs in the next 5 innings, then the summer could get very interesting if Smith and Robinson pile up the runs in Cc

All out attack is a bit of blanket to cover the fact they don't think many have proper test batting innings in them.
This will be controversial, but wasn’t McCullum a bit overrated but had a huge exciting innings in him? This lot are the same 0,4,16,12,11,2,47.,0,0,3, 185of 92 balls people only remember the 185.

Today has been a disaster. Root and Bairstow would be beating the drop in any other regime

Of course it isn’t.

It’s taking stock and realizing today was bad and fine tuning it for the future.

The poster suggesting dropping a large chunk of players including our best batsman ever to teach them a lesson.

Completely bonkers!!
