India v England 3rd Test Rajkot

Need Duckett to go on and get a 'daddy' hundred and for someone else to get 80+, with the rest chipping in with a few 20s and 30s, and it's game on.

The Indians still look a bit fragile when they're put under pressure on their own turf - it doesn't happen that often and they look like they're struggling to come to terms with it.

Probably just jinxed everything now. 😂

Need more than that tbh. Pitch will get very uneven later, so probably need 550+ as you don’t want to chase more than 100-150 on this later in the game.

But it does look like a road atm, so no reason we can’t score big, especially if root decides to turn up

Their spinners in India in this match have gone at 5, 6, and 7 an over, great stuff really is.

We may win lose or draw but crucially playing this way gives a chance to win.

Previous games and tours once a opposition scored 450 in the first innings that would take a win out of the equation even if we batted well as would not score quick enough to get result in 5 days, not with this side :D

246 is what we need to avoid follow on.

200 deficit in tests and 150 in FC cricket.
Technically the base law is 200 in a five or six day match, 150 in a three or four. And from the actual not the scheduled start. So five day tests and delayed start tests have had a 150 in the past although I vaguely recall that the playing conditions now stipulate 200 in four day tests as well. And the entirely academic (since an Australian is more likely to say he loves the poms than enforce the follow on these days) target in the Shield final is 200.

Nice to see them on the back foot especially, like you said on their home turf.

Let's see if we can turn the knife tomorrow and get level 1st then hopefully get a sizable lead.

Missed our innings this morning. Can't wait to get the highlights on. Sounds like a corker from the pocket rocket.

It’s bloody brilliant

I really hope we bat all day tomorrow and not go complete kamikaze mode. Bat like we did today again and we'll be fine.

Was our problem in the Ashes upping it into the kamikaze batting mode and as a result didn't give the bowlers a long enough break.

A normal Root innings is just what the doctor ordered. Please Joe lad, stick the dance down the wicket hoick away.

They will always take the positive approach. Fine line between being super positive and scoring at 6 an over as they have today and getting out of a shot you deem kamikaze. Duckett will continue to try and score every ball and what you might call an 'irresponsible' shot is only a ball away.

I love it me.

Nothing they did today was anything like the approach we took in the Ashes in the first two tests.

I think they've learned from that and hope it continues tomorrow.

It might seem kamikaze at times but it not only moves the score along and ensures a result but also messes with the heads of the bowlers. Even if they have a lot of runs to work with no bowler likes getting smashed around the ground every over. Especially on home turf with your fans watching.

Putting the pressure on India in India isn't' something I've witnessed much in more than half a century of watching England play. Love it. Double ton for Duckett before lunch tomorrow.
