See what people mean about this place

Since Saturday I've been variously called "mental", jokes made about needing/taking medication, and it suggested am schizophrenic or have a personality disorder

That follows on from learning that posters, particularly female, "lap up" attention on here by talking about problems

Apparently, this is all though banter eh

Fuck that am not posting on the thread any longer

It's obviously up to you but I wouldn't let daft shites like that stop me from posting mate, if it's causing you stress just leave it for a while.

Try not to take this place too seriously or you will undoubtedly go mental.

Nah fck it, mods even deleted my posts objecting to it, as they considered my language to be inappropriate (no swear words were used)

Poster will be thinking how hilarious he is, now backed up RTG staff

No one bloody says anything or challenges anything man. The amount of awful things that pass for hilarious banter is minging

Your posts were deleted because you were quoting the very posts to which you subsequently objected and which were deleted.

The 'inappropriate language' tag referred to the content of the posts to which you objected.

Whew calm down fella 😳
What threads are you talking about?

I can't think it was me you're kicking off about as I'm ill and my posting has been scarce for days.

Why no it's not you ya dafty

Just annoys me and because things go unchallenged or are laughed at by a small handful of cranks, they become acceptable and posters are empowered

However, clearly the report button works on this occasion as the posts I objected to have been removed

I see, well I'm still in the dark but no bother, I'm off for a nap to try and shake off the lurgy 😔

Hi All

I've been off here for a bit. I'm going through a bad patch at the moment. I've been on escitalopram full dose for just over a year but doesnt seem to really be doing it for me. I struggle a lot with morning depression where I wake up, feel absolutely horrendous and cannot face the world but by the evening I usually feel on top of the world and happy as larry. I've read about morning depression and that SSRIs are not particularly effective for morning depression and SNRIs are much better like duloxetine, cymbalta or venlafaxine/effexor.

I'm going to speak to the doctor. I just wondered if anyone had any experience with either the symptoms of morning depression or these medications?

Howdy. Yes very much so

I actually set my alarm over-early as I've recognised it can take an hour or more to shift

A combination of chilling for a bit, coffee, then getting about the day and it does clear but it's not nice and it just doesn't feel right

Know someone else who's described the feeling of utter morning dread so don't think it's that uncommon

Would be interested to see what others think I'm reply to your message

I can't comment mate as my depression linked in with my drinking but thats why I like this thread as the amount of things you read where you realise your not the only one has helped me loads so good on ya for saying what works for you as maybe help others 👍

I wish it was that easy tbh :(

It comes and goes and particularly bad at the moment. embarrassing to say I managed to get out of bed at 2pm today with 13hrs sleep and still exhausted. On a work break at the moment so ok but if I was working I'd struggle out of bed and barely function through work at times yet by the end of the day I'd probably have loads of energy and feel on top of the world.

I dont drink, I dont smoke, I'm a healthy weight, healthy blood pressure and blood tests have all been fine. Sleep quality also seems fine.

Sounds quite severe at the moment. Nothing embarrassing about what you describe

I did think that 'get up and about the day' sounds a bit patronising/useless when getting up and about the day feels impossible

I have googled it and what have you, but don't think have ever seen any meaningful ways to overcome it

Some sort of hormonal thing or transition from sleep to wakefulness brain chemicals is about all I could identify with

Cheers. From what I've read, switching to SNRI anti depressants from SRRI anti depressants (which Im currently on) can help so going to ask that of the doctor tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Just wanted to see if there was any similar experience here.

Hi Becs. How are you pet? Long time no speak. X

Hi - I'm plodding on thanks. Still struggling with both mental and physical health. My crohn's is still flaring as the steroids I had didn't work. I spoke to the IBD nurse and she wants to see me on Friday. She's going to run a load of bloods and a calprotectin test to find out the level of inflammation and the amount of immunosuppressant currently in my body. I might need my dose upping on that but she wants to see the blood results first as too much immunosuppressant can cause liver failure!

Hope you and the family are well xx

I don't know if it's the same but I sometimes struggle to get going in a morning on work days. I'm freelance so I don't have an official start time. I just have deadlines and for example, I've done some calls today that could have been done on any weekday this week.

When I'm struggling with mental health, I'm guilty of having my breakfast and then just sitting in my dressing gown faffing about rather than getting dressed and going to work. Then I get stressed at the end of the week when I'm cramming things in and I get angry with myself for wasting time earlier in the week.

Hope you are ok xx
