Reidy played McCann out wide on the right when he first signed as he wasn’t ready for first team CM duties. Mebbes Ba is going through a similar process?
I personally see him as a Roberts replacement which is less likely to happen if he doesn’t get on the pitch when Roberts is injured.

He needs minutes somewhere that’s for certain.
These young lads all need minutes if the model is going to work. I don’t think anyone disagrees. But imho minutes in a midfield (team even) without a functioning def mid arent real match situation minutes as no one is fully able to play the position/role they’re being asked to play. Instead they’ve half an eye on what’s happening where the def mid should be. Which consequently is slowing down both their individual progress and the teams.
A rethink is needed at the very top imho.

It’s just lip service. Not that I m one who clamours for the signings of ex players, but we’ve been desperate for a CDM and he would fit the mould. We won’t sign anyone who’s first team ready. It ll be a load of technical midgets stacked up in a long que behind Bellingham not getting any minutes.
