Yann M'vila - target or not?

Because they insist on playing Jobe every game despite him being out of form or tired. If they continue with that, it’s either we get a striker, or we get a defensive midfielder. There’s no room in the team for both.

Put a CF and a CDM in the 11. Who do they drop, realistically?

But might as well put Ballard on the wing, class.

They’re not going to put neil, ekwah or Jobe on the bench, imo. They’re just not like.

They're going to have to rotate Jobe at some point or the lad could break down with an injury. Just look at Ekwah, who's not looked good since being rushed back from his injury.

Football is more of a squad game these days. Use the bench and the 5 subs effectively and it will win you games. This flogging of players will only come back to bite us in the arse if it continues.

Given we have Seelt I genuinely think we'd improve sticking Ballard up top until we bring in someone better, he knows where the back of the net is.

Proper 'Bally' moment that, and obvs most of this board shitting themselves we'd signed a nutter after all the Russia/axe reports I hope so much he comes back.

Said at the time I was not a fan of Defoe coming back, difference is here mvila is the same age as when had Defoe the first time.

The timing is very questionable though, we could have signed him any day during the last 6 months but it seems the move only potentially happening now to get fans back on side.

Defoe barely kicked a ball in the season before and was older than M’vila. Big yanny, according to transfermarkt, played Champs League Qualifiers, Europa League Qualifiers and actual Europa League, Greek Super League etc last season… amounting to over 3500 minutes on the field with a couple of assists to boot.

defoe was 39... and played little in his last season with the gers

YM 33, played a ton in Greece and has his stats last year are pretty decent.
granted his hasnt played in months... he could offer us the corry evens type of experience weve missed

Bellingham shouldn’t be currently playing the amount of minutes he is. He’s a great footballer but has, at times, looked like he’s running through treacle. Ekwah is another young player learning his trade. For every good match he has, he has a shit one. Ideal to bring him in & out sensibly.

We’ve had a problem in central midfield this season & it’s mainly down to relying on the same core of players.

I accept the likes of Joey Barton has his opinions on women in men's football but I certainly don't respect them
