Interesting comments from Barnesy tonight following his chat with Beale today.

Club looking for a small number of quality signings. Looking for players with grey in their hair.

Tbh, as much as the model (or whatever you want to call it) needs work. I'd be loathed to give him a pick over players.
It also seems a complete about turn from what the recruitment team have done with both Alex Neil and Tony Mowbray.

If we’re actively looking for two or three experienced players and also prepared to take a list of ‘wanted players’ from the head coach.

Its's as if they were right all along about the need for players with experience ready to go straight in to the first team.

Just bizarre. The only rationale I can think of is that neither Neil or Mowbray were really their preferred choice. They settled on Neil after courting Keane and got lucky.
Neil then walked out and they saw Mowbray as a safe pair of hands.
Now we look at home in the championship they’ve appointed someone who is ‘aligned with the project’ and they choose this moment to apply some much needed flexibility to the recruitment strategy.

If Beale was a first choice im Patrick Duffy.

I’ve no idea marra although one of the lads on the RR Podcast said he was told that Beale was always first choice.

Mowbray is probably wondering why they wouldn’t deviate from the model throughout his tenure yet only a month after Beale arrived it seems they’ve completely changed their tune.
A nah one of them is Chris willock from qpr but he’ll not get any of them regardless 🤷🏻‍♂️
Out of contract next year. Maybe one for the summer?

Mag from the away end came on last night and said the mag fans never stopped singing.
I thought they were shite until they went a few up
Good listening tonight to Neil Farringdon a Lecturer in Journalism .Talking about lack of atmosphere at Sid James , also how their away supporters are now more subdued . John Anderson commented how quite Mags were in Derby .

Yes possibly mate unless we offer a fee now for him which is highly unlikely

Barnes basically said Beale did give them a list and they are working on it as

“There are differing views on Beale than there were on Mowbray”

Basically Mowbray was wanted out a no one realised he had an automatic extension clause in his contract, not him or the club apparently.

Barnes basically said the relationship broke down ages ago.

It was stretching the imagination to believe Mowbray when he said he didn’t know there was an extension clause but there is no way the club wouldn’t know what his contractual terms were.

Couldn't see the plastic seats for the plastic mags in the North stand . That's what happens in the premiership, corporate football ,prawn sandwiches and f***ing VAR.

I'm guessing.
Unemployed, happy with a wage (until something more suitable came along)
Unemployed, happy with a wage (until got fed up with the model)
Unemployed, happy with a wage (we'll see eventually)
