Gladiators returns on Saturday

Do they slow that travelator down at the end for the ones that can't make it up.
We definitely noticed that. It's 2024, can't have people fail 😂

Also, I'm pretty sure in the final event I'm pretty sure the men used to use a hand bike at the same part where the women used to monkey bars.

This year they are both using the monkey bars, rendering it trivial for the men.

But again, it's 2024.

On the rings one, did the gladiators previously just latch onto the contestant pulling them down? On the new show the gladiators never actually let go of the rings

I must say I was suspicious of the 'homemade' signs in the crowd with gladiators' names on given it was the very first show.

The names of the Gladiators were known before filming, and the Gladiators themselves had loads of friends and family in the crowd for support.
Be family members who would have been given tickets.

I believe they set up the arena for an event then record a few episodes at that event . Chances are in that day there will only be 3 events done.

2 max, as they take nearly 8 hours to film.

The female contestants family we saw were in the arena about 14 hours the day before. She had won both rounds.

I thought one of the female gladiators did that on the first episode? Maybe the one that was up second? I'm sure she eventually left the rings and pulled the lass down? Maybe I just wasnt paying attention like, I was only half watching after our defeat at Ipswich!

The contender was holding onto one ring by the time she got over and she swung onto the same ring then hoyed her full weight on whilst still holding the same one.

They might’ve been told to hold onto a ring either for health and safety reasons or new rules.

When she got back in the dressing room the lass actually commented that the one she was trying to pull down was very strong so it might’ve been tactical as well.

That race at the end seemed shorter than I remembered it. Was done and dusted in a crack

It's 2014 not 1990 where footballers thought eating pie chips and gravy before a match was classified as fitness.

There's a Gladiator who was on who's claim to fame was being able to do 100 pushups in 1 go. If you do 10 tomorrow, then add 5 every couple of days, you'll be achieving the same in 6 weeks time, it's seriously unimpressive :D

The only one who looked genuinely impressive was Giant, if Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan had a bairn together it would look like something like that and he's memorable for it, genuinely huge fucker and not too boring neither.

Gladiators my arse...no there not

there not killing each other with swords...and there not fighting against lions & tigers

Love watching this with my daughter. First family program we watch together. Brilliant for introducing the young uns to fitness. Series has been done really well. The only down side has been the choice of presenters. The dad / son combo hasn't worked for me. Daughter is a huge Viper fan, although she has a meltdown if he's not in an episode. Mind you, I'm the same if Diamond isn't in.

Local supermarket has a travellator on it - it made my eldest's day when she got to see some teenagers being kicked out by security for giving in to the inevitable and trying to re-enact the show on it.

They used to in the 90s, noticeably so

Has a second season been signed off yet? Surely it’ll get a decent run after this.

Or they couldn’t be arsed to engineer hand bikes?

Ever tried to make two hand bikes?

Don't think anything had been confirmed. It certainly seems popular enough.

A criticism of this series is the amount of lucky lovers going through each round.

Semi final 2 this sat, then the final the week after.

Favourite Male: Legend
Favourite Female: Fury
