The Mortal Hound…

So it was open for a few months then? Questions have really got to be asked of the owner(s): either they didn't have enough cash to set up the business in the first place, or they're flakey and they up and left the site at the first opportunity of a better one (Flying Boat)
Do we know if they’re doing anything with the flyer? It’s lifting. Nor as in smell before people start with me again.

Shame really. First couple of times I went in the real ale was local and great. Seemed pretty busy.
I went in after Birmingham and it was busy, but they only had London Pride in and it was terrible.
I thought it was a good addition to the drinking options around the area.

Didn’t want to say anything at the time incase it affected business, but someone I know spotted what looked like droppings on the floor not long before they closed.

When he told the barman on the way out, it was passed off as a plant pot that had been knocked over earlier.

Overall, I enjoyed the place. Had topper drink in and never had a bad pint. Shame.

Shame was canny beer but it seemed very odd. Tried to be a tap room but decor was like a tarts handbag. Neither nowt nor summit all in all.

Thought it was fine and was what it was meant to be - A quiet boozer on a street full of dickheads so out the way from all the idiots.

Everyone's losing serious money on that street so it won't be the first. OutOut putting down the prices of its brunches and asking people to pay upfront suggests that's next, then Emporium and probably Closet will go with it.

Sounds like that side of town is finished.

It's absolutely crap apart from Chaplins and Fitzies. The gunners is decent for a club as well.

The piss pots will continue to fund the Borough and the beehive but all normal folk want to be around keel square area now for a drink. The mortal hound would've probably been a success if it was located were 2 church Lane was (not sure of the new name now) or Mexico 70

Is Ttonic struggling as well? Not including long-standing pubs, it must be one of, if not the longest, running bar in the town? It is a strange street mind, has a very different feel to it compared to even round the corner on Green Terrace. Other than Ttonic, nowhere seems to have lasted long on that stretch from between the Closet Club and Chillinos down to The Borough.
