*~*~* Ipswich v Sunderland match thread *~*~*

Aouchiche scores then we go 1-2 ahead, 60mins onwards and we needed a striker on for Jobe and freshing it up when Ipswich were pressing us and don't, that result is on Beale 100%. TBH I thought we would lose with the attacking firepower Ipswich have but thought a draw would of been fair on how we played. We better put this right against Hull and get back to winning ways.

You can’t blame the manager for a poor substitution if the player can’t hit the target from 14 yards.

Scores a goal, it’s an excellent substitution, not that this board would have recognised that fact.
But he didn’t score, so what’s your take on that?

Absolutely gutted for the fans who've made the trip down there.
Jobe's inattention and lack of reaction when he cost us the first goal was disgraceful, he should've been subbed straight off.
We were well on course for at least a point, maybe a win if we'd brought Rusyn on.
Beale brings on Aouchiche for Pritchard and effectively loses us the game.
He waits until the last few minutes to bring Rusyn on. He should've started, ffs!

If Speakman agreed to guarantee Jobe a start every game, then there's something very wrong with the model.
He shouldn't even be on the bench at the minute, he needs a reality check, tbh.
It’s Dodds running the show man!! Right up the arse of the Bellinghams family. Looks obvious to me.

Incredible not long ago posters where saying we don’t need a striker as we hit in the playoff last year and we score goals (well we used to thanks to Amad )
But some of us have been consistently of that view. I’m sure the feeling is unanimous, now.

I'm convinced your last paragraph is what's happening

Hope Beale has the bottle to hold his hands up and own his mistakes.
If he throws Adil under the bus or mentions individual mistakes he can fuck off.
He's a right buzz kill Beale like. Trying to give him the benefit of the doubt and allow him time but is he actually watching the match and making decisions based on what's happening or what? He and we have to be better than this man. Ipswich were full of desire, weren't better than us but they absolutely wanted it more.
Not a chance sadly mate will come out with some Johnson level buzzword bullshit

I can’t see how Beale was responsible for that, unless he said, ‘hey, lads, make sure to miss any sitters and give away soft goals’.
He will have a key role to play in keeping the players’ spirits up, but the main story is about recruitment.
Apart from the fact he took off our best player on the night, thought bringing Pritchard off was a good idea and turned us from a free flowing joy to watch creating multiple chances every game to a team struggling to create anything overnight

Second half was very poor, the substitutions were a joke.
We always looked a lively inspired team we’ve definitely lost something now this manager isn’t the answer.
The striker situation is a complete fiasco and it appears that certain players have to have a certain amount of game time no matter how they’re playing, unless you’re Pritch of course.
Taking Pritchard off who’s the only player that can create something for others and leaving the Ekwar and Jobe who were again as static as a static caravan

If I was Clarke I think I’d want out now. The squad is I think good enough to finish 4th-6th, but I can’t see it if MB doesn’t find some inspiration from somewhere

Ipswich did what they do, they took their chances and kept us in front of them. We were too slow, our lads stayed on the ball too long, we progressed up the pitch and proceeded to play the ball all the way back to play out of defence again, we gave away the ball and fouls in bad spots. In short, we were undisciplined. Credit to Ipswich, it was more than certainly a fair result but we should be doing much better - they aren't orders of magnitude better than us.
