Let’s be realistic that wouldn’t happen.

We’d get x amount of million for him, spend y and bank the majority
Let’s see before we start with the negativity.
Apart from Stewart on the last day of the window , the club hasn’t sold anyone of significance yet .

Aye, he used to hijack my computer back in the day....so I'm gathering that's what made him come to that conclusion 😂

What days them were mate. Me and my mates would sit for days on end in my mates room playing that. I was always QPR, few others were Villa n my cousin was Blackburn. WATTBA!! Great memories. Andy Impey n Les Ferdinand were my star players..alongside Penrice. :cool:

When we do sell him I’d like it to be for the maximum amount we could reasonably get for him, what’s the point in removing sell on clauses for other players who aren’t performing or have poor injury records

There is no way I want Clarke to leave but if we could get the likes of Stansfield , Lowe and a defensive centre mid in his place , I would accept that . That is how the model should work so let’s see.
Would those get us promotion? Where's the supply coming from?

People could be disappointed with how much we get for Clarke when he eventually goes.

I hope I'm wrong but with us signing him in League 1 surely there will be a hefty sell-on, and talks of £30m+ are crazy for someone who is, let's face it, unproven in the prem.

Lihadji was sold for a few quid wasnt he?

We’ve been told there’s funds there from the sales in January so we’ll see what they muster up

Bournemouth bought that lad Scott?? from Bristol City for £25mill like who had never kicked a ball in the Premier League.

even if you say he's not ready for the premierleague yet he at least trebles if not quadruples his wage moving. it's a no brainer for him if someone comes knocking with an acceptable offer

To start buying 5m pound plus players we are going to have to sell first . I think that’s been made clear .
And it's the same for every championship club without parachute payments, they have to sell assets and continue to rebuild, buying in more potential talent.

I’m not saying we would get like for like but everyone can see we need more balance .
As I said , I don’t want to sell Clarke but he looks like the player that would go first and provide the biggest injection of funds .
